Fallujah Falls Again

What did we say was going to happen in Iraq after US Forces leave?

Same thing will happen when we leave A-Stan. Yeah we told you so.

Al Qaeda-linked militants capture Fallujah during violent outbreak, report says

Published January 04, 2014/
FoxNews.com

After fighting in a bloody three-day war, Al Qaeda-affiliated militants raised its flag over government building in the western city of Fallujah, the city previously secured by U.S. forces before withdrawing from the country two years later, The Washington Post reported.

At least eight people were killed and dozens injured Friday night as the Iraqi army tries to regain control of the city. The army, which lobbed mortar bombs in its response, has been joined in the fray by tribesmen from Ramadi, a Sunni stronghold.

Major Sunni tribes turned against Al Qaeda before the American withdrawal at the end of 2011, but also do not support the Shiite-led government in Iraq, creating an odd alliance in the battle against militants. The total death toll from the violence, which began earlier in the week, is not yet known.

Agree, after we left Southeast Asia it only took North Vietnam two years to capture Saigon.

The reason it only took two years for North Vietnam to take the South was because that drunken murderer, Ted Kennedy led congress into cutting off all aid to SVN. Fxxk Ted Kennedy.... He is right up there with she who must not be named....

Damnation. I spent a lot of time in that town. Spilled blood there and lost friends there.

I can't say this surprises me though, esp with Syria next door going to hell. AQ back in Fallujah, did I say I am not surprised.

An interesting perspective.

It’s an Anbar Thing (not an AQ or U.S. thing)
WarOnTheRocks

"...there is no denying that the al Qaeda resurgence in Iraq in the form of ISIS is linked to the war in Syria and thus to larger regional dynamics playing out there. Yet, the ISIS flare-up in Anbar is only a symptom of the much deeper and specifically Iraqi problem: the meltdown of the long-simmering standoff between the Anbari tribes and the Nuri al-Maliki government. The ISIS swoop into the Sunni triangle is a move by a margin player sensing a moment of opportunity. Furthermore, while many Anbari tribes have vowed to fight the ISIS interlopers to the death, this does not mean they are truly allied with the Maliki government. Therein lies the root issue."

And so it goes...

The enemy

I wonder how many insurgents and foreign special forces soldiers are in our country already. This infestation is sucking the blood out of America. I am glad Operation American Spring is here. May God be with you All its time to RESTORE THE REPUBLIC.

Thank you.

Furthermore, while many Anbari tribes have vowed to fight the ISIS interlopers to the death IIRC they were a major factor the last time the are was stable.
I think the best course of action for the West is to take no action. Maybe support the Kurds in the north and let the Muslims kill each other for as long as possible. We can't make them change their behavior or the conflict between the Sunni and the Shia, so why waste blood and money trying?

Veterans upset over loss of Fallujah.

Seems like many Veterans have strong feelings about Fallujah and rightly so.
