Judas Priest!
I had not stumbled across this thread until it was resurrected today.
What a great story. Honored Captain. Forget that invite to my house when you are in Colorado. Don't want to compete with the White House!

You and me have a hell of a lot more in common than pres clinton and me ever will.
I would enjoy visiting you in your home.

Actually, I have not talked with him re this issue...But, he and I agree on most things, and friendship, camaraderie, and loyalty rank far higher than any 5 star hotel.
I would much prefer sitting with my bud's and eating cold C'rat's (nasty stuff btw), to spending time with people I have nothing in common with at a 5 star hotel.
It just so happens that several of those individuals inhabit this board.

I usually try hard to understand why someone might feel the way they do about something. Even if I completely disagree, I can at least get a sense for how someone's behavior, while odd, can be explained. i.e., For me to do [the same thing], how angry, what state of mind, what type of upbringing and experiences would I likely have had.
Not this. My first crush on a XY in 2'nd grade was simply because he had the most adorable cub scout uniform possible.
How can someone growing up in the US and in public service feel that strongly against seeing a military uniform. Not wanting to see a military uniform seems to put someone in a completely different league of mindset than someone who is simply anti-war, anti-Iraq, etc. It's not a shade of gray.

Simple.
Guilt. The uniformed service member represents everything they are not.
And I am afraid that they may soon reside at their former Pennsylvania address again.
If my party has a game plan, I would really like to know what it is.

X2. Any plan at all would be better than the current vacuum. They've got to have something to rally the troops with. Even a totally FUBAR plan can be salvaged with FRAGOs. (Well - usually! ) Peregrino

And there's your answer.
For all their posturing the Clintons hold little if any respect for our Military, why else would they not be able to stand the sight of a Uniform? Our Military is comprised of men and women who represent Courage, Commitment, Dignity, Duty to Country and Honor....none of which I think either of them understand, appreciate or embrace. At least that's how I see it.
