USSOCOM patch is from the OSS.
Now what is the difference in the designs between the two?

If my memory serves correctly, there is a stone dedicated to this unit set in the plaza just down the steps from USASOC headquarters. I'd seen it on my first trip to Ft. Bragg a couple years ago. I remember thinking to myself, Col. Applegate never told me about these guys.
