Didn't want to steal thunder from the MACV-SOG thread currently going but a very good friend sent this to me in a box of books that likely made the USPS mistress rue the term "flat rate box."

Author is COL (then 1LT/CPT) Tom Yarborough. He was an OV-10 driver who began initially as just one of the regular FAC pilots, but got sucked in by a friend to be a Covey FAC in the Prairie Fire AO. Another one of those "we can't tell you anything about it till you say 'yes' type deals.

Pretty good read (about 280 pages total) and photos as well, including some taken from in the air as Spads and Cobras worked over their targets. He isn't shy about his admiration for all the others he worked with including the Covey Riders and the slick pilots.

Thought it offers another view and also that some may see correlations to his descriptions to other operations (or sadly, loss of a whole team for example).

And, FTR, I still think the OV-10 is just a bitchin' airplane.
