TAPs for Steven Gernet (10th SFG)

Guys; received the sad news today from Kim Carruthers.

Special Forces (10th SFG), 2/75th Ranger and brother Steven Gernet was KIA, 23 JAN 07 over the Tammuz bridge while flying in a Bell 500 “little bird” as a door gunner for Blackwater over Baghdad. Steve retired in 2005 from 10th group out of Carson, Kim & Steve served together from 95-97 with LRSD - good mother fucker 18F4VW9.

Please send condolences, donations and support to Steve’s wife Colleen. Kim got the message over a secure net about 1 hour ago, Steve was doing what we all are doing and he believed in our mission and to take it to and kick the enemy in the ass!!!

Colleen does not know when Steve will be brought home, but she is planning a military service and celebration of Steve’s life on Friday, February 2.

As Colleen gets more information, she will send out the details.

Can be contacted at the following:

Steve will be missed

RIP Brother! Blue skies, soft landings - and I hope you took a shitload of BGs with you.

Rest well, you will be both missed and celebrated.

Rest well, you've earned it!

Breaking a law or violation of a regulation is not a mistake. It is willful misconduct.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." [Samuel Adams]

May you find peace, blue skies, and soft landings.

Rest in peace. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and colleagues.
