This guy on Facebook....

Yes, I know, I shouldn't be surfing FB in the first place.

But this guy has caught my attention. There is a post by the US Army Special Forces Command about training with Russian military at Ft. Carson.
This Matt Kumm posted a comment about the 10th Group being his "old unit" and that he's been to "that range".
Taking a quick look at his profile I have my doubts that this guy was ever with Group.
Dunno if somebody wants to run his name through AKO, and if he's not for real send him a nice reminder to not claim SF if he wasn't.

Did not see a Matt Kumm on AKO, do not recall him in 10th. But that isn't uncommon, my memory for names is shot.

Thanks Destrier.

I also found this Matthew Kumm, claiming service with 10th SF:

http://www.vetfriends.com/veterandir...?member=671822

Says he served from 93 to 97, rank Specialist. Some of the photos on this page look like Vietnam...?

Location is the same as in the FB profile, Ohio.

I think it's the same guy. Matt, Matthew, location Ohio. Would be too much of a coincidence to have two Kumm's serving in 10th.

I posted in that FB thread, asking him which BN. he was in.

1988. Have you been with 1st Bn. in Tölz? Thank you for your service!

Could not have been Tolz for 93-97, the Bn moved in 1991 to Stuttgart. I was with 1/10 and SOCEUR from 93-97 and do not remember a Kumm. We would have had lots of fun with that name...

Yes, I was there for the closing ceremony (and saw Big Al D. cry...)

According to this Vet website he was a Specialist... AFAIK you have to be at least a E-4P to make it to the SFQC, and make E-5 upon qualification.

Something's fishy with this Kumm (pun intended...)

makes no mention of being at Devens prior to the move to Carson. or in 1-10 prior.

the 2nd photo (huey) could have been taken at Butts Army Airfield or the FCCO main gate. There is a UH-1 (or was) at both locations.

I'm with MVP, we would have known this guy with a name like that.

Isn't 05B long gone? He says he was in 93-97...

The Vet page lists a couple of different outfits that he's been with. Aviation support, signal and 10th Group...

Well, the MOS is long gone. Yeah, looks like they call a Radio Operator a 25 Charlie now. 95B's are 31B's and God knows what else. Gotta love the new Army...

The Kumm-of-sum-young guy hasn't replied to my question on FB yet...
