Demo Dummy

I guess this happened about '66. C-101A was TDY to Thailand to train with the Thai SF and kind of lay the ground work for what would later be the 46th Co.

I was walking to our club behind our HQ's building. There sat a demo man with all the stuff he needed to set up the classic timer using a cheap clock.

He kept looking at his handy work but had a puuzzled look on his face. I asked him was he having trouble with his device" nope but this Fing clock going toget blown to bits!!"

He was worried the CO would come down on his ass for destorying a $2.00 clock.

Later same demo man went TDY to RVN and "SHINNING BRASS". Ran 1 mission and drove the FOB water truck for the next 5 months.

Dedicated Demo Guy

One of my 18Cs took his work home with him. He and his wife had us over for dinner during the xmas season and had an elaborate small scale train set up under his tree. After dinner we went into the area with the trains, he started them up, and as they crossed one of the choke points on the rail set up he detonated a miniature charge and blew the track. As with most 18Cs he had done a good job with CARVER for the selected site with the exception of the "E". The effect on his wife was unexpected.

Jack Moroney-recalling fondly the mixed aroma of "double "roast goose and black powder
