Model 1100™ Competition Master™
I'm getting ready to purchase one of these, anyone heard any news concerning them?

Haven't heard anything bad about them. The range that I shoot 3 gun at had a few for sale that I looked at, and they seemed like good guns. I still prefer my old benelli 121 M1 though.

Yup. I went to a match just the other day, to watch. When I found out what you can win for having some fun, hell I wouldn't have to buy guns no more. It's time for some practice and then some serious ass whoopings.

Team Sergeant,
In my experience the 1100 and 1187 will not reliably shoot reduced or "low base" loads through them.
Just my .02 cents

Have you shot the Model 1100 "Competition Master"?
I've not tried it myself but I do know Remington makes great weapons and I'm betting a lot of thought went into this competition model.
The 1100 was not made to shoot reduced loads, it's a hunting gun. I've not read much about the 1187 so I've no comments on that piece.

I know who I am going to wager on in the next 3 gun match in AZ.
Here is a Guns and Ammo article on your gun. The author shot slug/buckshot/short brass in his trial and gave his opinion.

I can't believe Joe had the brass ones to suggest the Team Sergeant would should "reduced loads" or would have anything to do with anything considered "low base"

LOL, three gun matches are just fun. There’s nothing that can be considered tactical or even useful besides placing rounds on tgt.
Nothing is realistic, not even the reloading. The top shooters are all using loads reduced so low that they are lucky the guns cycle each and every time. (I didn’t even know that made reduced slug loads until I witnessed people using them at this match.)
As I was watching some LAPD guys one came out and was laughing how he had lost a few seconds because he was “pieing off the room” instead of charging in.
It’s not that tough a competition, hell a 14 yr old came in 4th overall. (with a $70,000 prize table he did pretty well I’m sure.)
You just got to be fast, able to think on your feet and work well under pressure.

Whoa Whoa Whoa...I'm not insinuating anything....all I know is that a lot of competion shooters use a low base round b/c its cheaper to shoot and easier on the shoulder after a full day of shooting. I also know that we (my departement) will not sign off on our guys using 1187 or 1100's b/c they will not cycle our "tactical" buck shot which is a reduced "low base" round.
After reading that article it sounds like remmington may have address this issue.
Team Sergeant,
I have not shot the 1100 "competition master". I would be very interested to here any feed back on it if you pick one up.

Come on Joe! Its been a slow day. Besides, NOBODY can be as tough as they say the Team Sergeant is.
