EMT-T Question

I ran a search of this site but didn't come up with much. I know the 18D types are well past EMT -T.... but I was wondering is EMT -T recognized by the NREMT? Is it a real certification or just something that they through at you to make some money? If the skills taught are beyond an EMT-B am I legally allowed to use them?

What is / was CONTOMS? I have seen it referenced when I have googled it, but it sound like it has been cut due to budget issues???

I would appreciate any help / experience that anyone can share.

There is NO recognized designation of EMT-T. It was the fantasy of a few at CONTOMS to designate graduates of that course which now no longer exists. The national registry never recognized it. It was unfortunate that people that took that course thought they held a certification that didn't really exist......
The state of CA is publishing a set of guidelines for what defines a Tactical Medic that is far beyond what any other state has done so far....stay tuned and check the EMSA and POST web sites in CA.

Moving thread to General Medical. This does not pertain to 18D.
