Brutal killing of California family a 'clear message' from the cartel, sheriff warns: 'They were targeted'.
In time are we going to see the cartel wield more power in California? Being that this is something new I'm really waiting to see what the state's response is going to be.

The failed state of California won't do anything, just like Washington DC won't do anything. Except maybe make a few speeches and act horrified for a few days until it fades from the news.

When I read that the daughter and her baby were killed, I automatically figured it was cartel. It is going to take the second coming of Jesus Christ to clean out Mexico.

Unfortunately, you will see whatever activity -- criminal or otherwise -- that the electorate allows to happen in their area. Personally, I don't live there, but you will certainly see more actions like this in that area due to the willingness of the people to be "so liberal" with what they allow there...
