They show this by representing your state as a line of 100 people waiting for the vaccine and tell you where in that line you would stand, but they also give hard numbers, showing how many people in your county, your state and the country will be vaccinated before you.

Ahhhhh well I'm way down on that list, I just want to be able to see who's going to resemble the Elephant Man after they get the vaccine......

The Vaccine !
I have an appointment at the VA Medical Center Injection Clinic on 12/10/2020 @10:00 AM. Had a cat-scan on 11/19/2020, This injection clinic appointment is for a Shingles Vaccine. I will ask some questions about the Chinese Wuhan Virus Vaccine & the distribution schedule in the VA system.

I just got my first of two series Shingles shots last week. It sucked more than any other one that I have received previously. I knew it would be interesting when the nurse and doctor both told me it would hurt for a good while to which it did. Most people I have talked with personally suffered the same symptoms I did. I only know of one that didn't and hopefully you will fall within that category. I do wish you the best with it. I liked the old Shingles vaccine better....

Got my Shingles shots about a year ago, had no issues with either of them. I was on a list for over two years before I got them though. The vaccine was very short at the time and I had to meet a certain criteria before getting them. There is some dissention as to whether or not to get the Covid shot. By the time I am able get mine there should be a pretty good grasp on what the side effects are, time will tell. As things are now no one has a firm grasp on how to control it. I do not believe that lockdowns are the answer.

Couple blips
Got the name of the lab that does the PCR testing for specimens collected locally at various events. Will be giving them a call to inquire as to their cycle threshold, if they'll even give that information to a non-annointed one. In describing the test and some really too-deep-for-me parameters they did have one sentence in real English that caught my eye when discussing conditions ripe for false-negatives or false-positives:
Quote:
|
False negative test results are more likely during peak activity when prevalence of disease is high. False positive test results are more likely during periods of low influenza or SARS-CoV-2 activity when prevalence is moderate to low.

And the hits just keep on coming.
Well, my father's family generation ended today. My Uncle Richard, the Colonel, a career cavalryman, and the youngest member of my father's family passed away this afternoon. Luckily, my uncle had his mental faculties to the end and was able to recognize and acknowledge all his children and grandchildren when they came to say goodbye. My aunt, his wife, also got the KungFlu so they were able to share the same room and she held his hand when he passed.
Godspeed, Colonel. May the Lord keep you. Your family welcomes you home with open arms.
Blue skies and fair winds, sir.
Amen.

Sorry for your family losses Brother, maybe they are the lucky ones. Don’t have to see what’s to come.
RIP Colonel (Richard)

Tough to hear of another of Tomahawk's family but wanted to follow up on this.
I called the lab (down in Madison) after also reading that a "state lab" in MN follows "Federal guidelines" (CDC?) and has a CT of 38 for their tests. The same test over at Mayo in Rochester is done at 35. I finally got through to the lab that runs the specimens collected in this area for several counties, as well some that are collected by the NG-supported roving test sites.
After being on the phone for 45 minutes with a reception gal that kept trying to not tell me anything, and kept trying to get me to go to their website and read their FAQ ("BTDT dear, please connect me to someone who can answer a technical question"), I was finally put on hold to be connected with a "white coat" but that never happened. Bounced back to the same front-end gal who took my number. All hail the new boss.
Finally, at around 1645, a nice gent called me on his way home and said he was with their community affairs (wtf?) and could he help me? After 3 times of him asking me why I wanted to know ("curious citizen, read stuff in the paper, blah, me tell you same story long time") he confided that their PCR tests are run with a Cycle Threshold of 40.
Shit, no wonder the case load is spiking. All these numbers are way higher than Fauci confided (to colleagues, NOT the public) would be appropriate to prevent false positives and inconsequential appearances of infection rates.
My tinfoil hat still says that Biden will be the hero. He will diirect some action by all the peasants, by big ceremonial & signature event. Doesn't matter if people do it; important thing is to put something he did on record. Then TPTB will direct the Cycle Thresholds be toned down. Et Voila! Positivity rate now descending on track, on glideslope. The media will, per SOP, be all over this correlation=causation.

Sorry to hear that Tomahawk, prayers and condolences for you and your family. I lost my mother on Wednesday from natural causes (Covid-19 test was negative), and we will bury her tomorrow. Sad times indeed.
Rest In Peace COL.
