Abdominal surgery is no joke and NG tubes are no fun - whether placed on suction or not. Glad to hear you're in good spirits and on the road to recovery!

PSM,
Good to hear you are back home. Please, take it easy and heal. My brother had hernia surgery and rushed back too soon.

Ended up having subsequent visits to the ER.

BE WELL

Thanks, Doc! Wasn't that bad except for the NG tube and the elfing bed and its so-called bedding. I felt I was trapped in a giant web.

ETA: On a serious note, during the week several Cochise College students were helping with shifts and had to deal with me (), I asked each of them if they had ever had an NG tube inserted. None had. I suggested that they should volunteer and sit through an hour class with it inserted. That way, when they go to insert one, they can say, "This is going to be very uncomfortable" and say they know this because they've had it done. They'd also learn not to pause when they set off the gag reflex. Even on removal, since she did it hand over hand, she paused and I almost gagged. Should have been one long continuous pull. When they'd unplug me I often got squirted. I suggested that they leave the pump on "continuous". That worked and I never got squirted again. I was the patient, how come I had to suggest that?

That was too adorable and smile inducing
What a solid psyo.....I mean gesture of goodwill and friendship

I'm sure "some" view it as cultural appropriation or even positive proof of collusion with China

We 18D students are very well acclimated to the evils of the NG tube. I think for the instructors in SOCM, it is a fun day! Anyways, the student I was assigned with, could not get the 14 french tube past my deviated septum: blood, gagging, pain...quite the experience!

I feel for you and hope you get better quickly!

PSM, happy to hear you are on the mend. Apparently there are a lot of problems with the hernia mesh surgery, many along the lines of what you had to go through. Take care of yourself; and watch for any further "anomalies".

We keep the beds uncomfortable, the food substandard and bother people at all hours so that they want to go home once they are good enough.

The hospital is where you go to get good enough to go home and heal.

On the 3rd day I put the sweats, t-shirt, and Skechers (which I was smart enough to wear) on. I kind of let them know I wanted out of that place. It became a joke amongst them that I might try to escape.

PSM...Take care of yourself, nice to see that you are up and about after that....

Oh, and my Happy Thought of the Day....Thanks to my friend JN, who I admire, and respect with all my heart for his truthfulness; by opening my eyes since I have been an idiot for the last month.....Yes, thanks for your honestly by telling me that I sounded a "Little Needy" lately, which I have been recently. I am glad someone finally told me straight out, now I will dry my eyes, stop being a jerk and get back up. And thanks for all your encouragement, I am now a proud owner of a new handgun and I will be out next week for some more training.

I went to Arlington National Cemetery this morning to lay wreaths. I have to say, it was the most awarding, gratifying, emotional, thought provoking, and it was such a beautiful experience for me. I didn't care if it was 19 degrees out, and my feet and hands were icicles; but the sun was shining, and there were many people there to honor those who have fallen, or those who have passed. To me, these men and women deserve this not only in December, but they should be remembered every day. These men and women sacrificed their lives for our freedoms so we could enjoy everything that this great Country has to offer.

It made me understand that my petty little complaints, and bitching mean nothing compared to what they gave for this Country. When I laid the wreaths, I read their names out loud; Thank You Willard Edward Babcock WWII, Sgt. Charles Greene Sr. WWII, and to the many others I had the honor to visit today. I laid my hand on the top of each stone, and I could not stop from crying. I don’t think I had a dry eye until I got home. Oh Man, I think I am going to cry again…..it was truly amazing, and so sad at the same time. Such an enlightened experience for me…… I will definitely do this next year....
