Aye. I do know he'd appreciate donations, if anyone is so inclined, to be sent to the Green Beret Foundation for one...

Crip,

Prayers out to you and your family, along with prayers for a speedy recovery. Keep up the positive attitude. If you ever need anything, I'm usually out that way (Baltimore/Johns Hopkins) once a month or so.

Edited to add, Is there a address that we can send our regards/well wishes to Crip. I have been asked by other people, if it is appropriate. Or is there a intermediary?
If the moderators agree, I'll print out the string for him on Monday to take to his wife. I think we can come up with a big SF design Get Well card . TS is familiar with our local graphics capability.

Apologies for my absence from the board over that past 5 weeks but I have been somewhat busy. Now that things are moving forward and the majority of surgeries and all the foreseeable major surgeries are behind me I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on my situation.

Right now I am still having surgeries one to two times/week. Thursday I will be going back to the OR for grafting the medial side of my right leg - this should be the last of the major surgeries as all my wounds will then be closed. After that my trips to the OR should be for dressing changes only and should only last for a couple weeks/until the grafts take. Physical therapy is going well but is somewhat still limited due to the amount of damage to my right leg and my left not being fitted yet for a prosthetic.

xSFmed has been here assisting me for a couple weeks now and I must say that I don’t know what I would do without his assistance. Despite being in the hospital with the most experienced surgeons and therapists there are still shenanigans that go on with certain services (radiology) and with some of the contract nurses.

Last but certainly not least I want to thank everyone for their support. Your thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be greatly appreciated. I still have a long road ahead as I continue to rehab and adjust to my new norm as well as find how I can continue to serve the Regiment.

Thank You.

James

Where do we find such men? What an incredible attitude and what an inspiration to this humble guy. Good luck and hang tough, sir!

JD,

The wife and I are still thinking of you and pray for your strength! We are just amazed at your positive go-get ‘em attitude and your awe-inspiring fortitude! I made my daughter read this whole thread to see not only the how costly our freedoms are but the love and support for this country’s warriors!
Keep it up, stay strong and get well quickly! I totally owe you a drink or a dozen when the time is right.

I love knowing a real life superhero!!!
