I have been considering SF for some time. Completed unit tryouts with 20th and have been hampered with transferring from USAR to NG since. 2 deployments as 91WM6, Civilian ER RN, current student fufilling pre-req's for IPAP. Ideally I would like to become 18D qualified and serve under the SOCOM banner as 18D and eventually PA. Right now I am continuing to train and prep even though I do not officially belong to a Group in any capacity.
The time I did spend there, training with the quality of people present was just fuel for the fire. Essentially, I found exactly the types of people and training environment I had hoped to.
I also find the philosophy, culture, and physical demand of SF outstanding grounding for life.

Hello all. May have been said before, but thanks for having this sight open to non SF guys such as myself, it is definitely a great source of information. My name is Dave, 23 years old. Orignally from right outside of Boston, MA. Currently a lowly leg 96B specialist stationed at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Served in OIF with the 1st Armored Division. After seeing what the SF community is like andwhat it does first hand, I decided that its what I want to do with my military career. Whether its as a Special Forces qualified Soldier or simply working intel within the SOCOM world. I'm definitely looking forward to learning alot here and will avoid stepping on my crank as much as possible, lol.

Hello everyone and thank you for having me here .I've served 4 1/2 yrs active duty in 82nd airborne infantry ,as an 11B.I'm currently with 20th SFG training to go to selection. I'm also trying to get a conditional release to go back on active duty.
I will cut this short and tell you all a bit about myself. I am a certified welder, 2nd degree black belt(Shotokan), and awaiting my gunsmith diploma. I joined the us Army in 2000 ,where I was stationed @ Ft. Bragg. I deployed to Afghanistan in Jan 2003, then to Iraq in Jan 2004 with b-co 3/504th PIR. Thank you once again.

Wolverine83 - This is where your first post/introduction goes. Please read the stickies before posting again. Peregrino

Just sayin' "hey" to everyone new to the forums!

(just so you know...there is a truck-load of information here, just look for what you want)

SpartanWrestler,
I don't want to see you posting on here if you wish to stay. This is not a site for 15 year olds. I will not tell you twice.

My name is Joe and I am graduating college in December. I have been looking into OCS or 18x after graduation (I want to somehow end up in SF). I have been lurking for awhile and am encouraged by the professionalism and the spirit of the "Quiet Professionals" on this site.

Thank you for your hospitality.

My name is Jason Binkley, I'm an E-4(p) in Germany. While training up for Iraq I got to train with some 18Ds, who took some time out to help with our training. Their professionalism won me over and I've been working hard to join their ranks ever since. I'm putting together my paperwork for an SFAS class at the end of this year. When I've found something I want, I become some what obssessive about it and while in Iraq I devoured anything SF or SOF related I could have my wife mail me.
So here I am, discovered the site, and I'm glad there's something like this around. SF sites aren't so easy to find. Thanks.
