Hey, Malpaso, check out Chuck's tshirt in the avatar above your first post. Oh, and fill out your profile. The great information here isn't available if one of the moderators bans or FTFSI's you....

Welcome.! I also concur with Jack; please clear up the info in your profile as, being you basic ground pounder, I don't understand anything in it!

Its a pleasure to have the opprotunity to introduce myself to all of you on this forum. you may not see me posting here too often so I will make this count.
As you will see in my profile I am heading to basic in just a few weeks. In preperation for this I've been working hard to be sure I'm in shape. This has included a recent 25 mile hike through Yosemite national forest with a fifty pound pack, 5 mile runs every other day, and an alteration of push-ups and sit-ups.
One of my main motives for pursuing the 18x program is the chance for personal growth and progression as well as the opprotunity to work with (and become myself) highly skilled professionals.
I'm not affraid to make calculated risks and assume responsibility for my actions. It also takes a great deal to discourage me, but even if there are brief moments where I feel momentarily defeated I immediately pick myself up and apply myself again with full intent.
I love what I have found on this site so far, its resources and links impress me. More than likely as i said before, you will not see many, if any, post from me, because the information presented here seems straight forward and easy to access more through the various links presented.
Thank you for puting such a community together.

Introduction
Hello Professional Soldiers,
I was directed to this site via Warrior-Mentor.com, and I really like the information I've found so far. Thanks for putting together a great site.
I am currently active duty (9 yrs) with three deployments down and who knows how many more to go. I am interested in going to SFAS soon, and have been doing as much 'homework' as I can to learn as much as possible about both.
I am working on getting a new job in USASOC in the near future so I can at least work with special operators while I train and get my packet together.
Again, thanks for a great site.

While I posted initially several months ago stating my intent to try out for Special Forces, I have made that a reality over the past two days. As of today I am currently in the DEP program as an 18-X. I ship out on 5 September from Ft. Jackson to go to OSUT at Ft. Benning. Thank you for all the wonderful information on this site.
