Welcome SA Boone.
Actually we'd be pleased to hear what you've got to say.

I am interested in learning about the transfer from RC to AC, the 18x program for prior-service, and the family life so that my wife and I can be more prepared for that transfer.

jbean983,
Good luck with BCT, stay or get into shape. While in Airborne school get back into shape. Run harder and longer miles, do some push, pull, and sit ups; if you can dips.
BTW - My Uncle is the Dean of ED for ASU.

Greetings, gentlemen. I am humbled in the presence of professional soldiers. I myself have no experience in uniform. I grew up as an Army Brat in the Cold War, the son of a career Infantry officer. Consequently, I lived in many towns and passed through the gates of many posts. And I carry in my heart an undying respect and love for the Army and its members. I also carry a profound love for my country and a vast contempt for totalitarianism. I registered in order to absorb the knowledge of all you BTDTs, especially about weapons and outdoor gear. I stopped lurking when I found that lurkers can't see the pictures. I will try to keep my yap shut and listen and learn.
God Bless America and her people in uniform.

Hello all. I'm a 16 year old junior from Tennessee. I heard about your site on AP and came over to check it out. I browsed around before signing up and am amazed by the amount of information here. I have a lot of military history in my family and plan to go DEP some time next year with either 11x/40 or 18x. Thanks for the resource.

Greetings Professional Soldiers!
I am active duty USMC and have been in for 10 years. My current job in the Corps deals with $$, but I am looking into what other options may be available to me. Due to my TIG, my options are very limited in the Marine Corps. If the opportunity to try out for SF is possible I would do it. I look forward to perusing your website and getting a realistic idea of what options I have!

Thank you for letting in and for your service.
I have no military or law enforcement experince do more than one medical reason. I grew up running around a state park camping, bow hunting and fishing. I was a Boy Scout but I got the handle from carrying one of their knives everywhere. I started Martial Arts when I was eleven studying serveral styles in the one class and later moved on to Tia-Jitsu and combatitives from some mentor like buddies and an Uncle who we don't talk about. I study military history and history in general. I hope to one day be Registered Nurse but an ill wife and my small child comes first. I will try follow the simple rule of keeping my mouth shut and letting everryone think I am a fool instead of opening it and comfirming the fact.

Have visited here on a few occasions and have finally "joined" this great corner of the web.
First, let me pay respect to the 18 series guys here. I left Pineland in a medevac about 20 years ago and wound up across post with the 82nd. No amount of text here can show the respect I have for the btdt guys.
I currently work in Security/ Risk Managment Consulting, so I have been able to parlay squeezing triggers into a comfortable living for myself and my family.
When I am not providing for my little den of cubs, I like surfing and sending arrows down range.
Again, respect to the ODA guys, and thanks for the great site.
Best,
Dave
