Will do! Once I figure out how to construct it that is (being about only 10' ASL and only owning hand tools)

Happy thought...

The daisys are blooming on my property, and I'm looking at them in all their simple and beautiful glory on the right side of the dirt!

Picked 5 gallons of blueberries before 8:00 a.m. !

This year's crop has some as big as small grapes.

Distributed "care packages" of blueberries to some of our elderly neighbors.

We love blueberry season.

My son was picked as the top player at soccer tryouts for both his age bracket and for 1 year older. The evaluators had to play with the opposing team to even the odds when he was playing kids of his own age and called him "a man amongst boys".

Both coaches gave him their blessing to roster for both teams and when he learned he gets to play twice as much soccer he got really excited, and the coach for the older team complimented him by saying he not only stood out as the best player, but also made his teammates better players through his leadership.

The pleasures of Firewood

Both sons home at moment, Oldest waiting on College to start back up, and youngest just finished 10th grade. A local tree trimmer called, asked if I wanted 15-20 cords of firewood, he has a big job about 3 miles down the road from the house. We help cut and take the wood. He and his two helpers, drop all the trees, clean up all the brush, chips and hauls all the brush for my back wood trails.

The best part, we show up day two, he tells his helpers they need to work harder since my boys are unemployed, and are looking good for replacing them for the summer. They make me proud every day, but just something awesome about hearing it from others.

Then again it might just be my sons are just excited we are not dragging logs with the horses this time.

D minus 1, a colleague decided to get a retirement gift in early.
He recalled me lamenting years ago as I was going from Army career to Civ. It was AFTER the election but BEFORE the inauguration. Told him if I'd known that Carter's scrawl was going to show up on my certificate I'd have extended 6 months.

He was recently out to President Reagan's Library & Museum and today presented this to me (with a fresh plain cake donut to boot).

p.s. It has good volume and a substantial handle; there is no Dept of State flying pinkie finger drinking high-octane java from this mug. It's a man's cup. Gold Seal of the United States of America on the reverse.

Spent a week in Colorado with my 13 year-old visiting a few close friends, most of that time was spent camping near Lone Cone.

Had the bonus of a friend who rarely joins us, as he's spent the majority of the last 21 years stationed or deployed overseas.
We were camping in the same area right before he enlisted; it seems just like yesterday.

The wife, 5 year-old, and 7 year-old went swimming today down at "The Chains" area of Lake Powell.
It's 3 miles from the house and the parking lot is right at the edge of the lake.

Temperature today was about 105 degrees and swimming sounded appealing, so I later joined them.
Only about 10 cars in the parking lot, could hear the kids laughing and playing from a distance.

Don't have to report back to work until July 15.
Life is good.
