Presadog:

A little advice, "operator", is not used around here.

Special Forces Soldier works just fine.

Found this site by research on Special Forces. I am a civil war living historian. I also like Military history. Thanks for advice. Still new to posting. Says plain as day to fill out profile first. Sorry for the mistake.

Much better. Carry on, I'll be in the area all night.

Hi my name is Dave. I am a wannabe of sorts and appreciate all the BTDT's posting on this forum/enlightening us ignorant outsiders. I am going to training soon at the FLETC for the USBP and I guess you could say that I am really, really planning ahead. Pretty much doing preliminary research before I get too bogged down by other things.

I am interested in finding out about opportunities to join the 19th SF group in California with a Rep 63, and how realistic it is for me. I was originally interested in 18X but have taken a different direction. There is a possibility I will be elsewhere on southern Border so I am also interested in other areas for NG. Cali. is my geographical preference though and I am confident I will get it.

Hopefully I will have the opportunity to serve in this capacity, as many of you gentlemen have (or not so gentle). I guess you could say this is my 10,000 or so meter target... and improving on Spanish is my 10 meter target.

Have a good one, Respectfully Dave

P.S. Zarqawi is being raped in hell, Inshallah...

Operator

I'm an army operator(25F, Network Switching Systems Operator), but I don't know how special I am.
p.s. connecting calls in the field is really part of my job

Intro

Hello,

First of all thanks for the site, there is tons of great information here. My name is Oliver I am a 10th grader (summer vacation so I will be) my goal is an 18x contract but I have realized through some browsing on these forums that older men have a greater succesion rate in SFAS so I am thining of going to college and become fluent in spanish, go to a latin american country then apply for an 18x. I really love spanish right now all though I am only in 3rd year spanish. I plan to learn as much as I can on this site. Thanks again.

I am a DEP in Jacksonville,Fl. I volunteer with various fire stations here and I have met many SOCM students. I was very impressed with the knowledge and personal fortitude during their "ride a long" training .I have talked with many 18D, some of you may have met me before. I have close to four months left till I ship to Ft.Bening. I am wanting to learn as much as possible any way possible.

I have researched more about this MOS then most have.My recruiter tells me I have more than enough information, though I feel as if there is never enough.I am looking for some what of a mentor to help me,but I still have the motivation with or with out.

I only have one question about this site. I live 50-80 miles from Camp Blanding,Fl home of the 3RD/20TH SFG(National Guard). I would like to run the opsticals at least once or twice a week,I would greatly appreciate it if arrangements could be made? If not that would be fine, I have a good imagination. Thank you for having me as a guest in your domain.
