PS That's also the same trip that Jake in the daily BN meeting looked over to the XO and asked "do you want to hit this MF or do you want me to". He was speaking about CPT Realini (S4 OIC) at the time.
If I remember correctly, a certain Team Sergeant needed to piss and used the COL's pocket for a urinal. LOL

CPT Realini......Now there's somebody I haven't thought about in years.

5th Gp Relief Formation

How many people here were in the infamous Gen. SuddenDeath ...er Suddeth's inspection where more of group was standing behind the formation than in the formation when he was done?

Those were some of the best years of my life.

Sometimes wish that I could do it all over again.

MG Suddath made a suprise visit to Morocco onetime but we got a warning and were prepared.

I was in A/3/5 at the time, luckily (I guess) I was in O&I so the SWCies didn't have to attend any of those FINE formations...

"Damnit....I'm here to clean you up"...(meaning the riff raff group guys)....Sez Sudden Death himself!!!

At least that's what I was told...I didn't have the pleasure

Glebo,

Do you remember the mustache inspections? God be with anyone who got approached by CSM Foreman because of their facial hair.

I was there. I heard it. I remember that day because it was cold, clear and the inspection lasted like 2 1/2 hours. I remember because when he finally got to me he had a small icicle hanging down from his nose and it was hard not to laugh.

That may be ONE of the memories I'm supressing...

I do remember the fine rake line SOP we had when we moved from SBH to the old div area..everyday at 1630, them lines better be right!!

Oh...It just popped in me head....good 'ol SGM Dave...... damn...gimme a minute.

A co would still be on the st and he'd be yelling at us about we better have that good 'ol "hog lip" mustache and a fresh haircut.

Meanwhile, all the other Companies would be looking out their windows laughing at us....

Sims....Dave Sims....there, i remembered....

Fort Bragg Pine Cones

Here's one for you....

I think it was Spring of 1984. We (2nd Bn) were on post support. We got word that the Post commander's wife (Can't remember Gen name) didn't like all of the pine cones all over Fort Bragg. So for 2 weeks we walked/drove around picking up pine cones. Two weeks later, apparently the Gen's wife decided it didn't look natural without the pine cones so we drove around for another week throwing pine cones out of jeeps and duece and halves.

It sucked at the time but I still laugh about it now when I think about it.

Yeah, I heard about that one to. Tell some of those stories to the newere guys and they look at you like ya got a ....unicorn horn growin' out of your head...

I guess it really did take "Special" guys to put up with all that nonsense...

I can "one up" that one..well, sort of.

When we were out at Mott Lake we used to do all the demonstrations for who was in town at the time....Rotary Club, Wives Club, some VIP or what not.

Dave Sims had us cutting the grass under the bleachers......get this...with scissors. The bleachers were to heavy to move to mow with a mower....so we went under them...with scissors...I shit you not..
