It does not even appear that the book was properly edited. The read is choppy because he writes about events without guiding the reader through the chronology. One minute you are reading about an evening meeting, the next minute you are reading about something that happened that morning, or the day before, with no idea how you got there. Same thing with the big battle that is the climax of the story, all of a sudden you are there - with no buildup.

He takes multiple shots at LTG Mulholland. I think I understood the point the first time, but since he continued to take shots at the general throughout the book, at times gratuitously, I also got the sense that he has an ax to grind. Not very sporting from someone writing under a pseudonym.

You can talk down upon his name as much as you would like. Does not take away the fact that he, as many of you, served his country. Whatever chip he may hold on his shoulder is of no concern to you. If he did or did not violate an NDA has no bearing on your mission. As many of my personal friends and neighbors who have had interaction with him, have nothing but respect for him as do all operators. The book does not in any way put anyone into harms way.

Just my thoughts.

Those are some pretty broad generalizations. I think there are many here who would disagree - including some "operators." Don't you think that commissioned officers who willingly and knowingly violate NDA's for profit have a bearing on all of our missions? Didn't General Benedict Arnold bravely serve his country - until he stopped and betrayed it? Your statement that "the book does not in any way put anyone into harms way" is based upon which facts or experience?

How many years do you have serving in SF JForms? So you can speak for "all operators"? You presume much.

Lee Harvey Oswald served his country as well. Should he be beyond reproach too?

Violation of an NDA is not only illegal, it also violates integrity and TTPs. That puts brothers in harm's way.

Young man you are a guest here and are not in the military/SF yet. Tread lightly. You do not know everyone and everything so slow down and search and read and do not throw-down statements like that.

Yes I know a lot on this subject and personally know the individual. It does not matter who you live by or who your family is which gives you access to information if that may be your case.

Who are you to broad brush this subject?

Please give me one example from his book that puts anyone in harms way?

And in response to TR, I have no team time what-so-ever, and I should have said 'As many of my personal friends and neighbors who have had interaction with him, have nothing but respect for him as do all operators have for each other to the extent that is allowable dependent upon the character of the given individual. This is based solely on my experience from other operators who have served in the same caliber as he describes.'

Instead of saying:

'As many of my personal friends and neighbors who have had interaction with him, have nothing but respect for him as do all operators.'

I appreciate you letting me be a member all.

I cannot do that. The fact that I cannot does not make it so that there is nothing in the book that "puts anyone in harms way."

I cannot give a specific example because I do not have any experience in or specific knowledge of those operations. Therefore, I am not qualified to make such a statement - either positively or negatively.

Neither do you have such experience or knowledge, and therefore you, too, are unqualified to comment - but you did.

edit - I am done here. I am not sure you can be educated in this matter. That fact does not bode well for your SF educational process.

If I have friends who know some astronauts, or heard rumors about astronauts, when I repeat them, does that make me an expert about astronauts as well?

There are people here who have served with Major Greer, and who have opinions that carry significantly more weight and credibility than your hearsay comments, young Jedi.

The fact that he went public and wrote a book about a classified assignment, without clearance to do so, tells me all I need to know about Major Greer's character.

If you, as a guest, persist in telling QPs here what they should do or think, I expect your membership to be quite brief and unremarkable.

Best of luck.

I can but I'm not going to and neither is anyone on here.

You're done posting on this subject. Your opinion/knowledge or experience is not worth the effort to respond to, you know nothing of our world, absolutely nothing.

Right! And the voice of inexperience amongst the wolves in the wilderness cries out. As my Dad used to say, "Like a hog staring at a wristwatch." What he meant was, someone was staring at something but had no idea what it was they were looking at.

JMHO--the story is one which needed to be told at some point, but I question the timing and think it is too bad it wasn't told by a more entertaining writer. The Dick Marcinko style made me...excuse me...YAWN!

Mr. Mooch, why is it that you seem unable to follow simple instructions?

Former Delta Force Operator “Dalton Fury” Donates $25,000 from Book Sales
Mooch,

How much did Maj Thomas Greer aka dalton fury "pocket"?

If you think Maj Greer gave "all the profit" to SOWF I've got a bridge in NYC I'd like to sell you. (If I remember at first Maj Greer said all the book profits were going to SOWF.)

I removed Maj Greer's URL's, this website is not going to promote his book.
