Don't worry, as soon as Saturday Market starts back up in Eugene I'll go shopping for Col. Moroney's green 'n purple tie-dye and some Grateful Dead bootleg tapes.
Welcome aboard Cincinnatus.

Now if that happens be prepared to find a mutilated spotted owl dangling from your mailbox with a picture sent to all your friends at the Sierra Club and the ELF showing a Harsey blade stuck thru its chest.

Thanks for the Welcome
All,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Jager,
If it's not out of place for someone who's even newer to the board than yourself to extend a welcome, welcome. I've enjoyed your posts over at LF for awhile and am grateful for your service to our country. Thank you.
COL Jack? Moroney,
Do I even want to know what E-Harmony is? As we're practically neighbors, perhaps we can do some shooting. I expect you could teach me a thing or two.
Rubberneck,
It's interesting that of the six paragraphs in my intro you seized upon that one phrase, inconclusive in itself, of course, still...
Sneaky,
"a world class smart ass" Damn, coming from you that's like being knighted or something. I told Dad over dinner "I finally joined that SF board that I've been telling you about. The guy who invited me posted that I was 'a world class smart ass!' I don't know which is greater, my feelings of pride or of trepidation." He finished chewing and said "It's nice to have your talents appreciated." Wonder where I get it from? LOL
BTW- what's the origin of the true believer qoute in your sig line. I really like it. I'd seen an abbreviated version somewhere, IIRC, "Somewhere, right now, someone is training to kill you and take what's yours. Still wanna quit?"
Gypsy,
I'm a Libra

Ahh now your "profile" is complete, NDD can rest easy.
Don't tell me you've missed out on all those mushy E-Harmony commercials! It's an online dating service.
LOL @ Terry!

E-Harmony?
Gypsy,
I watch almost zero television. There's literally not a working TV in the house. Most pop culture references will go right over my head.

Cincinnatus you're not missing much...except for the Military Channel of course. That's definitely worth the price of admission. Well, add The Learning Channel, The History Channel, and the Food Network...
/hijack...sorry all!

As far as we know, I wrote it. Ideas from recruiting posters, Che, etc. If you run across the one you quoted, please let me know - I like to give credit where credit is due.

Introduction
I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking for a while and have recently started talking to a recruiter about enlisting in a NGSF unit. I'm a Consultant in the DC area and am currently waiting on my BI for a FLE Agency. I look forward to becoming more active on the board. Thanks.
Mike

Introduction
Hi, my name is Tony and I am currently a graduate student in Alabama. I enjoy bass fishing and hunting in my spare time. I am 26 years old and not prior service. I was, however, enrolled in the college ROTC program here for a while. I was also in the SMP program which allowed me to be in the guard at the same time I attended school. My military knowledge is limited and the limit of my training has been attending LTC at Ft. Knox and being on the Ranger Challenge team. Very low speed by many measures. I learned about this site both on a search engine and armyranger.com. I have the same user name on that site as well. While looking at many posts before posting this introduction, I realized that this would be a great site to fill in the gaps of my knowledge and help me make the best decision concerning military service. I know that I will join next summer when I graduate, but the route I take is still undertermined. I'll leave many other details to what PM's I may send. I appreciate the chance to be a part of this site and get some of this information that I consider to be extremely important to people like me. One thing I have noticed while searching the posts is that the moderators and members on this site are extremely helpful. Thank you for that! Please excuse in advance any errors in my part made in ignorance. Thanks again.

Welcome aboard Tony. What are you pursuing a Master's in? I am close to an MBA as well as an MA in Finance. However, I decided that wasn't for me and went ahead with enlisting. I will consider going back later but will probably go for something more "job related" such as history or international studies.

my intro
For those of you currently serving in the Armed Forces, or have served in the past, thank you.
My name is Ryan and I am currently a Junior in College. I attend a small school in south western Pennsylvania called Waynesburg College.
My Father was in the Army Rangers (3RB) for 20 years, and is a Gulf War Veteran. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1972, and retired at the rank of Major in 1992. Maj. Robert A. Murray III
I am contemplating enlisting after I graduate. I will mostly lurk on this message board because of the good information offered.
