Don't think I know him, though it's possible. Hell, at this point, I might have trained him.

Welcome to the forum. Read a lot and don't squat with your spurs on. Especially around here. Someone might ask you if your funny hat will flip up if they step on your spur.

BTW, the Fort Knox CG didn't find the humor in that as much as I did.

Hi guys, just to get this out of the way, I'm not currently in the army. However, I do plan in the near future to enlist in the army. I joined this site to get a feel for some of the people of the SOF community and to learn a little more about SOF. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be like my dad (who was an Army Ranger) so I have been obsessed for a long time about being special forces or a ranger since I admire my dad for some of the crazy stuff he has done and has been through. Just stopping by in this thread to introduce myself.

Hey all. Found the site yesterday while doing a google search for some of the friends and colleagues I've lost recently. My name's Bryan and I'm a team leader in C/2-1 SFG(A). It's been a rough rotation for C Co so far... Unfortunately my next couple of posts will be in the TAPS forum...

Hi everyone, I've become an offical forum troll now that the only thing holding me back from SFAS is the outcome of my physical next week. The vast amount of information on here is amazing, so many questions answered and even one's that I hadn't even dreamed of asking. Thanks again!

Cheers,

Hey,

I'm currently serving a tour in Iraq as a 19D (Cav Scout) with 10th Mtn. Div. I'm 26 years old, I was born and raised in Germany, got married and immigrated to the USA and then joined the Army. I speak fluent German and while some people argue that fact, fluent in English as well. I've been interested in SF for a while now but never made any serious efforts of going that route. I'm still trying to get more info, so here I am....

Cheers,

Valtyr

Welcome aboard all.

Valtyr, I think the word you are looking for is "fluent", not fluid.

Gentlemen,

I'm 37 and have spent the last decade in the mortgage business. I'm married with one six year old boy, no prior service, and if all goes well at MEPS tomorrow, I'll be enlisting in the USAR and heading out to Ft Leonard Wood next week. I'll return after AIT in January to spend three semesters finishing my degree and then I'll be looking to apply to OCS. I have an idea I'd like to then make a career in the Army, but I'm taking things one step at a time.

Earlier this month, when my industry experienced a complete meltdown, I found myself needing to look for a new career. The original plan was just to return to school, but when the Army offered to pay for it, I jumped at the chance to not only get assistance in changing my career, but to redress a past wrong, which was not serving when I was younger. So I can't say that my motives are completely altruistic, but with a family, it wouldn't have been possible to serve any other way. I hope to do at least two things in the AR: 1) give my country a good return on its investment and 2) teach my boy that talk is cheap--it's the walk that makes the difference.

So that's a little about me.

I'm most here out of curiosity, but as I've read the posts over the past couple of days, I've also found this place a source of inspiration. Thanks for creating this board and thanks for everything you do.

Sincerely,

miscmike

Hi All,

I'm a new 18x recruit, and I ship Sept. 19. I've been reading the forums extensively for the last few weeks to better understand SF as I've just recently been introduced to it. After reading and researching I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to try to become a member of SF.

Until I make it to SFAS, I inted to continue my research. Thank you for this invaluable resource.

Regards

Guten Tag!

Greetings Everyone,

My name is Ryan and I am currently stationed in Germany with the US Army as a Military Policeman. I am 21yrs old and a native of Southern California. I have completed one 14-month tour in Iraq as a MK-19/240B HMMWV gunner and my brief interactions with the Special Forces have inspired me to become one of the elite. The professionalism, courage, and dedication that they exhibited while operating struck me as a calling of some sort. I currently have an SFAS class date scheduled to begin OCT07 and I anticipate one hell of an experience. I have done a lot of research on this board prior to registering, and the wealth of information provided has been most helpful in my preparation. Good day to you all and I hope to interact with some of you as life rolls on.
