I didn't mean to come across as disrespectful to the feat that Mr. Baumgartner achieved. Perhaps it was a poor choice of words as I wasn't being literal. The team assembled to complete his stratosphere jump is an impressive group of professionals with a wealth of expertise. Nor would I minimize the time, money and energy invested. I heard that his suit is being looked at my NASA as a foundation for future spacesuit designs.
I knew Col. Kittinger (Ret.) set his own jumping record from a high altitude balloon, but am unfamiliar with the other incident mentioned.
