Hello all,

Are you able to pick your ship date? How long is the wait between oath/MEPS and the actual ship date?

I got my DD 368 to go AD 18X from NG but I'd like to finish this semester (almost got my Bachelor's). My recruiter is telling me that I need to ship before my DD 368 expires (?) and is trying to "quick ship" me.

But he also told me that I can delay my ship date, if I can get a letter from my school stating that I'm enrolled in their courses.

I apologize in advance if this thread is out of place.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thank you.

Thank you.
Originally I was told I'd ship in November 2014. Due to a MEPS processing issue I went to MEPS a week later than originally planned. At MEPS the Army office liaison person felt that it was necessary to call SF Recruiting because he had a question about my eye prescription. The SF Recruiter allowed my eye prescription (the Army office guy didn't know the reg) and gave me the option of leaving in November or March. I chose to leave in March so that I could spend all of the holidays with my family one last time.

I was at MEPS in September so it would have been a two month wait if I had left in November.

18X shipping out 20150316.
