1stindoor....yes sir, she has plenty, and loves to watch "GI Blues". Guess I failed to communicate the "happy thought" which is "Out Of The Mouth of Babes" or as Art Linkletter used to say, "Kids say the darndest things". It brings a smile to the face to observe the grandchildren grow and develop daily/weekly/monthly....

Whew...I was a bit worried at first. I didn't know of any child without a bit of Elvis in them....well except for Michael J. Fox...who was the anti Elvis, but I digress. My kids used to love listening to his CDs when they were little.

It came from an old song written by Mojo Nixon, part of the lyrics were:
Elvis is in everybody out there.
Everybody's got Elvis in them!
Everybody except one person that is...
Yeah, one person!
The evil opposite of Elvis.
The Anti-Elvis
Anti-Elvis got no Elvis in 'em,
lemme tell ya.
Michael J. Fox has no Elvis in him.

Today is the 12th of April - 150 years ago today South Carolina picked a fight with the wrong kid in the schoolyard.

For a "happy thought of the day"...that's pretty harsh...I suspect the arrows to start getting launched any minute now. On the other hand, 8 years ago, she said, "I do."

150 years ago South Carolina stood up to the bully in the school yard - not that it did any good in the long run.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

I enlisted on January 28th, 1986. As soon as I finished my oath, we all gathered around the TV and watched the shuttle launch. Didn't go smoothly...but still provided a once in a lifetime experience. Makes remembering the date easy.

Congrats on your anniversery!
I also remember the shuttle launch that day, it is burned in to my memory like a banding iron burns flesh. It is funny the things we remember.......
Happy Thought today is that in one week, I will be the happiest new resident moving to Scottsdale, AZ. Getting there though, is going to be fun!!! 12 hours to Albuquerque, then 7 on in to AZ.
Ahhh, the open road of the United States of America, and all the fun a blonde gal can have along the way! hehehe
Am excited to start my new job though, and scared as hell at the same time...now that is a Happy Thought indeed!!!

I'm off to Chicago for a conference for a couple days, leaving in the morning. Then I come back to my son's team's first outdoor soccer game.

Just bought my wife a 3 year old registered Halflinger mare for her birthday. Things in the house are good.

Free fuel!
They guys running the truck shop across from our UPS hub save some of the (clean) used hydraulic/transmission fluid from their changes.
Goes right in the tank of the '77 Mercedes.
Smokes a bit, but runs great.
