Introduction
Hi, My name is Cezar I am 17 years old and the owner of a 11X/ABN contract. I am shipping on 20060712. I am curently awaiting my citizenship, which should arrive in aprox. 2 months. After I shall receive it I will renegotiate my contract, I was preset on getting a 18X contract but due to the age increase It has made things a bit more complicated. I have been infomed that if i posses a "waivarable asset" I might be able to enlist in the 18X program. I am fluent in Romanian(born), Italian(college level) and also knowlegeable in java(college level). My question is weather these assets are waivarable or is my cause lost?
Thank you for your time,
Cezar

So you have signed a contract, and think that you will get another one because of a language capability?
I suppose that it could happen, but I would not bet the farm on it.
Good luck.

Just another 18x
Hello all. My name is Justin and I'm a 28 year old computer technician. I signed an 18x contract on 20051212. I ship on 20050607. I have put much effort into the entire process so far and realize the work has just started, to say the least. I was required to complete 15 college credit hours before the Army would offer me a contract, that will be completed on 20051220.
Thanks for any future help.

Howdy Folks
Prior service guy here introducing himself. I was an active duty Signal Corps Officer from 1994 - 1998. I'm putting a packet in to join the Virginia National Guard in the next month or so and I'm just doing some research on Special Forces.

Hello, I am a current 91W (medic) in the Virginia National Guard and I am putting my packet together with my AC recruiter. Everyhting is done except for the DD form 368, which I will have signed tomorrow by the company commander and the BC and then I will be going on down to MEPS Wednesday morning. I have been told by my recruiter that I can get into the 18X program, although I am not sure if I will be eligible since I am prior service, but either way I am going to become an 18D. My targeted ship date is 20060102 for Airborne training. I look foreward to learning from you all.

Greetings
To " The Team Sergeant, "
After much struggle, I for the moment have discovered the secret to posting on this particular thread.
What a struggle!!
Great to see a lot of the " Old SOG Gang " on this site. Greatly enjoyed the picture from a recent SOAR at the end of a thread posted by the Martinez girl featuring " Nick Brokhausen, Lem McGlothren, Rick Hendrick, Bob Castillo, " Sleepy " Hill, ( all of CCN Recon ) and of course " The Legendary Jay Graves " formerly of Delta Project, on an RT in the " earlier days, " ( really would any of us admit to knowing him!!! )
Notice quite a few posts by Toby, [ Joe Walker's old (1-1), on RT California at Kontum. It was good to see Joe in Vegas at the last SOAR. I had only seen him twice in the last 34 years since the " Old Days " at Kontum. Once was at The SFA's 50th Reunion at Bragg and the other was last year at SOAR.
I'm absolutely struggling to remember Martin's last name as I saw him last year in Vegas ( If I'd quit drinking that would help but as we all know life is very, very short and I'm not about to do that. ) I gather he was probably Ed Wolcoff's (1-1) on RT New York, Bob Kline was also the(1-0) of that team but if it was before or after Ed I don't Know.
Guess I'd better go now. Sorry to bore everyone with these minute details as I realize SOG is ancient history for these younger Kids.
Again a nice site that I stumbled on to while out surfing

I highly doubt participants of this site would find your contributions boring!
Just my two cents.

Welcome aboard vnrecon.
I saw Castillo, Trantanella, and a bunch of the guys at Bragg last week.
Small world.
