I had the 18 y/o Elijah Craig this past weekend. Compared it back to back with Maker's Mark.
No contest, the EC wins hands down.
Excellent sippin' whiskey!

I think you need to compare it with something better, like Booker's, Black Maple Hill, Blanton's or -- dare I say it? -- PVW.

My PVW bottle was lightened without my advance knowledge at my kid's recent birthday party. I know the culprits had no idea what they were doing; they just randomly picked it from the 8 or 9 options in front of them.

Well, you fellas are responsible for my newfound taste for Booker's. I hope you're proud of yourselves, it's more expensive than some of the scotch I was drinking before! 
Now if I can just get my hands on some of that Elijah Craig...

well, thanks to all here...
i purchased a bottle of Blanton's...(no EC in the store...i'll find a bottle sooner or later)...truth be known, except when mixed with Coke or Seven Up or something like that, i've not had a bourbon in years...i gave up blended whisky (Scots or otherwise) because...hell, i dunno...anyway, i thought i'd try this gringo stuff, somewhat in deference to my ancestors (purveyors of unregistered livestock and untaxed whisky)...
not bad...i could get used to this...

Mr Harsey may have tried this Canadian Whiskey. It is called Pendleton Canadian Whiskey (Hood River, OR)

I have a customer that asked me to try it, and since I like Scotch I tried it neat. It is very good, IMO. Something about a Historic Rodeo and a bar called Ne'ter Buck or something like that.
I don't know the whole story behind it because my customer told me the story while I had my first glass. We drank enough that I forgot the story. 
Anyway, a very smooth drink with great taste. It grows on you.

Bourbon, Any Bourbon.
Wild Turkey 101 12 yr or Russel's Reserve but basically any good KY Bourbon will do.

They put out a Kentucky Derby Bottle this year. Really nice and it is now sitting in my collection. Woodford Reserve is one of my top 3.
