What shade of paint would look best with the dog's coat?
Alternate, more subtle plan:
Start demolition on a room or two, and just keep knocking down walls and cutting lumber every day without visible progress. Turn the saw on a piece of scrap lumber every time she calls or comes home. After a few weeks of plastic sheeting for walls and sawdust/drywall dust all over the place, it will be a long time before you get asked to start a project again. Note, if you shut down the only operating bathroom and put a water hose shower in the back and Porta-Potty in the front yard, you will really be ahead of the program.
Just a thought.
