RL-
Your son is in my prayers, anything you need, just call.
All-
Please see what you can do to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society beat these diseases - they have come a long way in treatments, but it sure would be nice to find a cure. I'm not sailing in the Leukemia Cup Regatta this year, due to a recent move, but next year I would love to garner support and donations from the board in RL's son's behalf. I've been involved in this for about 6 years now, and personally have over that time raised over $10,000 - last year was a great year - about $3,500 after matching. I now have another reason to redouble my efforts...
Other things we can all do to help - donate blood if at all possible, get on the marrow donor's list, volunteer at a Children's Hospital, donate toys and time - we never know when something like this will strike one of our own, actually, yes, we do now.

RL - Mine and my family's prayers are with you. Your announcement took me back 54 years ago when I was in your son's place and my parents were told that I had Leukemia. Just a light touch and my skin would turn black. Thank God it was a misdiagnosis and not Leukemia, but an allergic reaction to one of the new sulfa drugs. I still spent 6+ months in Baylor Hospital, Dallas Texas under the observation of the very fine staff of the Wadlee Blood Research Institute. 32 units of whole blood and a spleenectomy later I was fine. Fight the good fight - we're all behind you on this one. God Bless!
