20, current NG and a 35 series.
Aspiring to either try for 19th or head over to Active and try out in no more than one and a half years. I like to set up the 50, 100, all the way out to the 300M when I'm planning, so I'm here to learn what I can, prepare myself completely, and eventually work my way to an 18F slot.

Introduction
Hello QP's. I'd like to start off by saying thank you for creating this incredible site, filled with invaluable information and first-hand experience.
I'm 23 years old and in May 2012 I graduated from college with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. I live in Pennsylvania and have been interested in serving my country since my childhood, particularly through Special Forces. In September I enlisted in the Army with an 18x MOS contract as an E-4. I leave for OSUT at Fort Benning, GA on March 11, eager to start my journey through the pipeline.
While I realize no civilian can truly know what to expect from the SF pipeline without actually completing it, I believe that I can gain the best 'possible' understanding by utilizing the countless tools this site has to offer. I look forward to learning from the experiences of the QP's on here. Thank you for your dedication and service to our country, and I hope to one day earn the privilege to serve along side you.

Re-intro
Gentlemen, this is a re-introduction for me as I have been offline from this site for over a year. I'm a former O-3 turned E-5 in the Texas National Guard. My SFAD packet has been submitted and I'm awaiting the Green Light to begin my journey through the pipeline. I am also an LEO in the North Texas area. I'm here to learn from those that have gone before me.

Stras,
Thanks for the welcome. I tried sending you a private message, however, it said your box is full. When you get a chance can you send me a private message in reference to a place to donate funds for Slim's family.
Thanks

Introduction
Gentleman,
I Enlisted 06Sep1978 as an E-3 (College/ROTC) under the Spartan program with MOS 91B.
Graduated on 02NOV1980; I remember being in awe of the guest speaker - LTC Nick Rowe.
First assigned B/1/7 SFG(A) - ODA 724. While there I finished my BS and received my commission in the SC.
After going to Korea in 122Signal, 2ID, I eventually found my way back to group, as a PL in Signal Company, 3BN, 10th SFG(A).
After AD I was assigned as CEO, 1BN,11th SFG(A).
Now active in the VFW & SFA (D-8450-L) in central FL.
I'm interested in catching up with old friends & making new ones among our brotherhood.

Kp25 intro
I'm a 28 year old washed up college football player . I lettered in football and competed in indoor track at a big school that used to be in the BigXII.
I completed my degree in criminal justice and planned on enlisting after graduation. I had trouble at meps because of a couple of knee surgeries I went through after graduation and football was over for me. I w offered 11x but not Airborne because I had a medical waiver.
I'm here to explore any other options I may have to get a shot at getting to selection.
Thank you gentleman for your service

My name is John. I enlisted an E-1 in march of 2009 as an engineer in the Reserves. This wasn't what I was looking for in the Army. After NTC in 2010 I started the process of getting a conditional release. I spoke with an active duty recruiter who informed me of a lack of slots for prior service to re-class 11B. I then spoke with a National Guard family friend. He hooked me up with another recruiter who eventually got me an 11B slot in the guard where I MOSQd. After round two of NTC we mobilized for deployment. Now I'm here in Afghanistan basically being an armored taxi service for POGs who take valuable down time from us to congratulate each other on performing their daily tasks which they equate to achieving superior firepower, while giving each other coins and awarding themselves with ARCOMs like they're sugar packets in a box next to their coffee machine.
My immature dissatisfaction aside, this is not a world I belong in. There is no pride or honor in anything I can hope to achieve here. ASAP I'm running as far and fast away from this hiccup in my carreer in the National Guard to pursue a life as an 18B.
Anyone who reads this and has the time to shoot me a message with some guidance and a little mentoring, it would be well recieved.

Hey guys,
Firstly thanks for the opportunity to join the website. I'm a 39 year old Australian living in New Zealand. I have no prior military service and certainly respect those that serve. I do like to read and found this site to have a plethora of information to keep me busy with what goes on in the SF world which I find interesting.
My interests involve trekking and keeping fit mostly and I have already found some useful information to help with a trek in the New Guinea jungle I'll be undertaking again some time in the near future.
So once again thanks and most of all stay safe.

Hello
My name is Jeff and I am in my mid-late 20’s and will start a military career of some type in the near future. I’m looking between pilot or spec ops. I’m not sure but am doing research on my options now. I go before an Air Force Board in February for an opportunity to receive a pilot slot but nothing is assured. If that ends up as a no go my next option will be a spec ops contract. Not 100% sure on the branch but I have time to learn about each and make my decision.
About Me:
Like I said before I’m in my 20’s. I have an Associate’s in Engineering Studies, a Bachelor’s in Physics, and I am completing my Master’s in Engineering (just under a year left). Out of high school I spent 7 years as a Firefighter, the last 3 of which I served as a Lieutenant and for the last 4 years I have worked for the US Government, Department of Homeland Security.

Introduction
I am 19 years young and would consider myself a student at this point. While getting ready to start my classes for my EMT-B over a year ago I became very interested in the military and what it has to offer. I now hold my EMT-B certificate and am halfway through my EMT-I classes. I have decided I want to finish paramedic school before joining the military but while still in school I have decided to research as much as I can. If I can attain an 18x contract in a couple years that is what I would choose but it is up to where the military's needs and not mine. I would be more than happy just to serve my country. Thanks all for you service and a well regulated site here.
Sincerely
J

Introduction
Hi all,
First off I'd like to thank everyone on this board who is currently serving or has previously served.
I'm currently training for Army OCS, and want to be part of the Special Forces. I graduated in 2010 with a BS in Economics and have worked in investment banking and private equity. I'm currently working at a child-safety franchising company.
I don't have any burning questions that compelled me to register, so I'm just trying to absorb what I can from being around the BTDT guys here. Look forward to being a part of this site and thank you all for letting me join!

Hello Men,
I have been working as a Deckhand on a fishing boat for the last few years. This job has afforded me the opportunity to pursue my passions and I've been very lucky. The next adventure in me life is going to be while serving my country. I have always been fascinated with the mission of the Special Forces. It seems like a smart organization and i am going to do my best to help out the force. I hold an 18x-ray contract and i'm currently awaiting my ship date in early Jan.

Hello Gentlemen & Professionals
I am 33 years old, South Asian ethnic background, grew up in 4 countries/continents, speak 8 languages, extremely fit and active - workout regime 5Xdays/week atleast, compete in atleast 2 mud runs every year (one of them being the Camp Pendleton Mud Run), 1st Dan Tae Kwon Do.
my background is a 4 year college degree, successful professional civilian career, but that drive isnt enough for me. Every day i wake myself up or find it difficult to sleep realizing that my life is meant for something greater good than what i am currently doing. A military SF career is my ultimate drive.
My only caveat - I am a US Resident, not a US citizen yet, i plan to file for citizenship papers early next year. Now i know the military processes citizenship applications as well for recruits. There are quite a few knowledgable, resourceful members on this site, who know a lot more, the formal process and exceptions/inside help if any.
I am willing to Give my ALL to dedicate a career in SF. Even more, If you want to beat the bad guys, it helps, if you look like them, speak like them, and blend like them, and thats a natural for me Any pointers, suggestions, on how i can acheieve this target.
I know I shall be competing and going up against talented men of all sorts, but not every day, a guy with ethnic background, global knowledge, experience, 8 language skills, leaves his really well paid (6figure) corporate job, because this is where his heart is. Any help and advice is much appreciated.
I know this site is monitored by many SF/formerSF members. if you have an interest in my profile or would like to mentor/coach me, please reach me at

Thank You for your time, and thank you for reading my introduction

Introduction
Hello there,
I am a 25 year old planning on signing my 18x contract in a couple of weeks. I have been reaseaching on this site for a couple of months and have waited till now to join. I promise to be quiet, listen and learn. Right now I am focusing on getting my weight down. Was a D3 college defensive end. Not fat, just want to be safe when they break out the tape measurements for bf that I pass. I can ace my PT scores, but if they fail me for being 260 at 6'5", I my have to defer. I have been rucking for a month and leaning out quickly. Doing a couple of crossfit workouts a week to keep my anerobic system up. Eating clean and doing everything. Hardly touching the weight room... besides the 100 lbs. oak log I have in the bed of my truck that I play with at the park.
Thats about it. I have a cousin thats an 18D in 1st group. We come from a military rich family history. Looking forward to adding on to it.

Tourist guy here. I am not in the military and have no interest in joining. I'll do my best to be a good citizen here. Gonna be a century of iron and storms so I'm interested in hearing from the guys who are at the anvil.

I keep relatively alive on the cultures of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Crossfit.
I am a college graduate. Archaic, esoteric, conservative, Buchananite.
