Welcome aboard Sir.

Welcome to all the rest too.

Huey14,
That is kind of you to offer your services. Us mountain raised kids, Texas cowboys, southern folk, and those who grew up on tobacco farms here wouldn't have any hope of translating our patois into properly spoken or written English.

I spent 21 years in the Army. 4 and a half with 2nd Bn Rangers and the next 16 and half with SF. Was with 10th, Det A, and Phase 3 committee. Looking forward to seeing some old familiar faces.

Why you gotta edit my post? I feel violated!
Warrior-Mentor:

I didn't intend to edit your post. My apologies!

I thought I was responding to it, my bad!

I shall have to find out how I screwed up.

Again, my apologies!

Be glad that it wasn't a load of HE and nails.

Careful with the God Gun there, Cap! It's all fun till someone gets an eye put out.

Liason......AKA.....The Mole!!!!

Conspiracy, nah, it'd be to easy. A hostile takeover looks more (not) likely.

Reporting as per SOP

Special Forces Soldiers et al,

Hello, I'm from Texas and surfed into this board from another site. I'm a civilian who wishes he could've had a career in the military. I intended on joining a Ranger Battalion (no easy feat, I know) when I graduated from high school back in '84 and had great aspirations of trying for Special Forces when the time was right (didn't want to be an SF Baby), but was medically disqualified from service altogether. I had the good fortune of learning that Texas has an official volunteer militia (the Texas State Guard) about three years ago. It turned out that I could join despite my medical deals (which have never stopped me from doing anything else anyway) and my age. My father was a leg Infantry Sergeant Major, so I try to follow his example and that of every other male figure I had growing up (all Army, of course). I'm a guest at another board for elite American Soldiers; Airborne Rangers to be precise. I join these boards to learn and, hopefully, become a better guardsman and a better man. Aside from that, I'm a guitarist (played professionally for many years) and currently work as a producer of instructional television for a local school district. (because I despise the media, I won't work for any commercial channel).

Thanks for having me. I'll be lurking about awhile before posting.

Edit: addressed Quiet Professionals properly.
