I'm thinking radicalized jihadis who picked a very soft target with a follow-on target of first responders, but their plan got interrupted by an inquisitive officer that started the gunfight ... the IEDs they were throwing from the vehicle instead employing at the initial site (plus their close proximity to that location) seem to point to this. If the first officer called in the plate before attempting the stop, like I think he did, that's all she wrote. Next up they need to do a thorough vetting of the shooters to find the auxiliary that supported their mission.

A man who identified himself as Farook’s father told the Daily News his son worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels.
“I haven’t heard anything. He worked in a county office,” Farook's dad told The News. “He’s married and has a kid. We’re estranged because my wife got the divorce, and they are together. She doesn’t want to see me.”
Farook said he hasn’t seen his son in some time.
“He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

Sometimes when I get pissed at work I get suited up in my airsofter outfit with my girl and just imagine shooting people lol. They threw a pipe with caps and a wick that turned out to be fake. This was planned, and done with at least one, maybe two accomplices.
I should add, just being a smart ass but my dollars are on jihad. Getting the female involved seems strange though. Where do you find one like that??
