What I really hate about it is you don't wear green tabs on them. I sewed them on my greens and the old field jackets.

College teams wear logos on uniforms and their programs and coaches get some big money. Logos on Olympic uniforms just seems out of place. Although, I think one year Levis did the uniforms and they may have included their small Levis tag. But oversized Polo logo? Just seems in bad taste to me.

Let's see - Nike swoosh, Speedo, Adidas, Visa, etc., on official Olympics athletic gear for decades. That 'horse' left the barn long ago.

Unlike most other countries, the USA does not maintain or support a PAID Olympic team. PR with manufacture's LOGO's is one way to keep them in the so called "non-professional" status with free uniforms..

I do not advocate for or against State Run Professional Sports Teams, but even it we did you would have Professionals with LOGO's..

Richard is correct, they have had their TAG in every Olympic ports for years..

My bitch is the Che inspired beret.. But even that dead bastard has logo problems..

You're right. I guess I'm just used to seeing nike swooshes on jerseys etc. Not used to the giant polo logo.

China calls US 'hypocritical'

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/0...est=latestnews

Quote:
Xinhua snarkily suggested that all U.S. lawmakers should perhaps be banned from "wearing anything or using any product" that was made abroad — a near-impossible restriction in today's globalized economy.

Xinhua singled out U.S. Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who had called for the uniforms to be piled up and burned.

"If there is anything that should be burned, it should really be the hypocrisy of the U.S. politics," it said according to The Associated Press.

Before getting any more upset with Team USA's parade uniform, this image that Spain's Pau Gasol posted on FB a few minutes ago gives a hint of how bad things may get tonight.
