91% Dixie......

Since my great great grand-father was a private in the Confederate Army in Virginia, I might have joined Mosby's (The Gray Ghost) Rangers......on the other hand, might have joined some of the other ancestors and hid out in the Great Dismal Swamp for 4 years.

94% Dixie! Strange since I'm a California Boy, who was born in Kansas City raised in an Army Family and lived in Germany for 12 years.

Wasn't being a suck. That's what's known down here as Southern Courtesy. I don't suppose a New Englander would know anything about that.

63% Dixie. “Well under the Mason-Dixon Line” on the first test.

28% Dixie. “You are a dandy Yankee Doodle” on the advanced test.

Well that is confusing. Damn good thing that they did not ask about how I tend to spell certain words, like “addresse, colour, tyre, blonde”, etc. Then they would be confused, also.

I lived in the heart of Appalachia for a bit once. It took a while to regularly understand the locals, about six months. One of the locals who I was friends with accused me of having an accent. I asked him how many times he has had to ask me to repeat myself over the last few months, and he said, "Not once." I then asked him how times per day I ask him to repeat himself and he said, "about a dozen or so times." I then asked him how is it that he understands all that I say, but I do not understand him most of the time and yet I have the accent. He thought about it for a bit and then came to the conclusion that it was he that had the accent. We got along even better after that.

Guess that makes two of us - 50% Dixie. I attribute it to my southern roots and being stationed in the south, despite growing up in the north.
