I knew CPT Lightfoot when I was GTMO in 2008. He was a highly motivated young Marine Captain then. He would talk to me about SFQC at chow. I couldn't offer him much, since I went through the course in 1984, but he loved hearing about it anyway. He already had his transfer to the Army planned out, all for the purpose of joining Special Forces. He was healing from surgery where he had his achilles tendon reattached to his heal. It was the second time for him. He had the same injury to his other foot previously. I was not certain he would get through training with those issues, but he damn well did it! I had not heard anything about him since GTMO until today, when another soldier (who served with me in GTMO) told me of his death in the chow hall here in Kosovo.
CPT Lightfoot, you are a solid American patriot with whom I was proud to serve. Rest in peace little brother!
