Welcome aboard. Good to have you here.

Hi, I just registered after lurking for a while and would like to introduce myself. I'm just a civilian working to serve the needs of the Navy, mostly the submarine side of the house. I'm here to read and learn a little about people I admire and respect. Thank you for the privelege of being a guest here.

Also, since tomorrow is Veteran's Day, thank you all for being who you are and doing what you do. I'm not sure what else I can do as a civilian to show some appreciation, but I hope my donating a bit of my pay every month to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation will help someone out. Thanks for all your sacrifices in serving our country.

I too have been lurking on the net and hesitate to be in the company of all the experienced and capable men on this forum. My interest stems from the fact that I was recruited ,by then, Col.Yarborough to do some "work" for him at 7th army HQ in the late 50's. I can tell by the quality of this group what he was all about.I have never been in combat per sea. I love your stories.I was discharged out of an NSA support group in Feb. 1962. My only wars were waged as a guidance counselor the past 36 years. It wasn't boring.

Seems like this be the proper place to formally introduce myself. My name is Linus, I'm from Sweden, served with KFOR and I'll mainly be lurking.

Thank you for having an online source for so much SF-related info.
My intro:
Civilian.
Engineer.
Still conditioning for SFAS.
Always wanted to serve, which was a strong motivation throughout late night work synthesizing biogel-based latex for the next generation burn wound dressing.
I will learn a lot from this site.
