Intro
Hello,
My name is Craig and I served as a Military Policeman from 1981 - 1984 on AD both in Berlin and at Ft. Bragg.
I joined the 430th MP Det(CID) from 1984-1988 at which time I moved to the USCGR as the 430th was deactivated. I remained in the USCGR as a Port Securityman until 1992.
Thanks to all for your service.

Hello,
I have been in the Alaska guard close to 6 years. I have been deployed with them to Kosovo, Haiti, and now Kuwait.
Originally I wanted in the military because in the spring of 2001, I read Mark Bowden’s book, Black Hawk Down. This in turn motivated me to loose 100+ pounds to be eligible to join the Army. Unfortunately 9-11 happened before I was old enough to join (being on the cusp of 17) and my mother wouldn’t sign paper work to put me in the active army.
I figured I could back door into the active army thru the guard but wasn’t aware of having to complete Basic/AIT before being able to switch. Unknowing of many other options, I trudged on and completed Basic/AIT as a 15t.
I was still aspiring to be part of 160th all the way thru my second deployment. Upon return to Alaska, I worked for the Counter Drug Support Program while on stop loss for an upcoming Iraq mission.
The first Iraq mission never happened and resulted in our Haiti mission. There I was again placed on stop loss for an upcoming Iraq mission. When I got home and was told I had been taken off the list for Iraq. The unit’s reasoning was that I had already volunteered for two deployments and I should let a new person take my spot. I worked at the hanger for a few months until the money ran out for the fiscal budget, and then moved into a civilian job doing armed security.
Our unit lost an aircraft in January of 06 and I was told to come back to Anchorage to be a replacement for one of the deceased crewmembers. I was supposedly heading out. Well orders never came thru so I moved into bar security. Worked that for a few months and then deployed with our Infantry unit to Kuwait.
This third deployment has better shown me things that I now know I love and hate about the military. Here I have decided that it’s all or nothing. I want to work with the people I can trust, that are intelligent, and will be as loyal to me as I will be to them. So that being said, I am following the advice of a Professional Soldier and enlisting under the 18x program after this deployment ends.
I hope this makes for a satisfactory introduction and that you may be pleased with future questions/input I may have.
Thanks, Brian

Welcome aboard everyone.
Brian, is English a second language for you?

I have edited my first and second postings. I hope this clears up the dribble I had posted prior.

Brian:
Slow down. There is no need to be in a "hurry" when you are posting on the web. The opinions of you, formed by others here, will be based on how you present yourself. You may want to think about that in the future. I am not saying your grammar needs to be perfect but you need to try.
Also, using short cuts will only get you so far. Learn the language and use it properly.
Welcome to PS.com...

Brian, Brian, Brian... And so your vetting process continues. Sorry I never told you about this forum. I figured if you were serious about SF you would find your way in here. I pondered giving you the "situational awareness" speech before your first post, but I think you learned the lesson better yourself. It’s a little different than Myspace huh?
“Read & heed” and you’ll be fine… Welcome!

Hello Brothers
My name is David, active duty 5th SFG(A) I'm an 18D and I love my job. Shame you can't stay one forever.
I stumbled across this site and it looks great. I was hoping to find something like this where I could pick the minds of other SF guys not in my immediate circle.
It is good to be here, and I look forward to the conversations we will have.
Thanks
Dave

My Introduction
Sirs,
My name is Eric. I am a student at Texas State University. I am also joining the Army after I graduate. I am here to learn about the Special Forces and take advantage of the knowledge that is made available through this site to help me if I decide to go with a Special Forces MOS. I won't post unless I have a question that isn't answered elsewhere on this site. I'm here to listen and learn. I appreciate your efforts here and your Service.
Thank You for having me as a member, Eric

introductions
Not sure if I did it before but here goes.
My name is Rudi, I am an IT specialist part-time and a substitute teacher in the secondary education field. I have taught elementary and high school for nearly 5 years.
Currently with the Corp of Engineers, doing IT work ( 25B).
Saw this forum from another friend and I like the different topics especially the mental ones.
I would like to someday try the SF courses or even qualify but I will need a medical waiver due to hearing loss. For now, I just deal with the IT stuff where I am and its pretty cool.
I guess the Army does takes care of it's own in a weird sort of way.
Anyways....
