First off, I shouldn’t try typing when falling asleep. Good Lord, was my spelling and grammar bad on that last post.

So they made that rotation schedule from the beginning? I didn’t realize that. I could have sworn they were over there for a lot longer. I do recall hearing that the 75th switched to deploying individual companies instead of battalions to deal with the OPTEMPO or was that from the start as well?

At the onset they may have deployed whole bns. By 2002 they were already deploying companies for 3 mos rotations with the secret squirrels.

So - I find myself asking - what does the United States Army say about "Rangers"

Does the US Army make a formal distinction?
...just asking because I really don't know (don't care either) but the US Army made quite a big hullabaloo about the first two female Rangers not all that long ago - am I to believe that those first two female rangers weren't "real" Rangers?

If one type of ranger is just the adjective for a school and the other type is the proper noun for an ee-leet fighting force, then shouldn't the
Army have capital letter "R" Rangers and lower case "r" rangers?

Is a school ranger not a "real" Ranger ??
What says the United States Army ??

Oh, and before anyone NOT affiliated with the US Army infantry Center and School decides to chime in - No; I'm not interested in what a school ranger or Regiment Ranger has to say about it not unless you are formally affiliated with the MCoS or have a viable link to the US Army position on "R"-"r"-angers...

If there IS an official position, then so be it.
If there is no official position, then there is no official position which means its is no more and no less than an internal unit tradition - and tradition is important - its why only Rangers wear Black Berets or brown or whatever we are saying upholds the most amount of tradition.
It's why blood wings are so important to a paratrooooooo...
...sorry - I got all reminiscent there for a second
- tradition doesn't mean shit anymore - the DOD and our civilian elected representation has made certain of that.
Tradition is just a passing fad - accept it
-embrace it
-what you 'thought' matters no more
-tradition only matters when it advances the correct narrative

Its why only sappers, presidents one hundred, mountain, airborne, special forces, ranger, jungle, arctic, governors 20/12/10, advisor, band, honor guard, and combined division tabs are authorized for wear (we had to get rid of the traditional pershing and air assault tabs - because those guys were punks)

Its why everyone is SOF now - its why every services has the best SOF - its why every gubmint agency has an eee-leeet tactical law enforcement element - its why we cant survive as a nation unless we join hands against some contrived partisan boogeyman
It's tradition

blAH BLAH BLAH - my tabs was harder to earn than your tab blah blah blah
blah blah blah my Ranger Batt clerk typist is more ranger than your ranger "qualified" paratrooper infantryman - blah blah blah
blah blah blah - my little dick is bigger than your little dick - blah blah blah

some people treat these fucking silly assed tabs like biker gangs treat 1% patches...
...and these are elected representatives that should be "uniting and healing the country" big giant clown shoes worn by big giant clowns that live and work in a big giant clown car - ok everyone back in the clown car - we have to go and attend some fucking everyone-is-equal classes to get this ranger ranger ranger shit under control

Wait, you mean I can wear my Pershing Tab under my Special Forces Tab and between or under my Airborne Tab and above my Electric Butter Knife? Gee, the stuff you learn here, I’ll be sending my Class A uniform out right away to make it so.

Thanks Box!

I saw a guy online the other day sporting a "Calvary Scout" tab over his long tab. He bills himself as a "Special Forces Calvary Scout". It made me laugh.
