This gives me flashback to my days as EST instructor with a college ROTC shooting team. Every so often, we let non-members try it to promote the team, gain funding approval etc. This was pretty high speed 13 years ago, and I ran the shoot-dont shoot scenario to impress the guests. Those of you who have trained with it may be familiar with this one: You are at a check-point. A car stop in front of the gate.....

As soon as one passenger got out and yelled "allahu...." one guest emptied his entire magazine to him and the car I did my best to keep a straight face and explain ROE, LOAC, etc.

Looking back, I guess he knew exactly what he was doing.

(FWIW, it was set on shoot scenario actually as the rest of the occupants got out and started blasting).

This is the ROAST restaurant I mentioned in a prior post, with the picture of my G-son. The picture is at the 2nd floor elevator landing. The description of the attack took place under where I was standing.

Guardian reporter Lisa O’Carroll is at Borough Market, where she says multiple stabbings have been reported:

Witnesses said they saw two men stabbing people outside the well-known Roast restaurant in Borough market. A chef from the nearby Fish restaurant said: “I saw two guys with big knives downstairs outside Roast. They were stabbing people. The police were running away, they were community police. They were normal officers, they were running away.

“The guy with the knife was killing two people. We were shouting ‘stop, stop’ and people threw chairs at them. Police came and shot straight away.”

Another staff member from Fish said: “I saw two people in Breadhead bakery, they had blood on them, they were civilians. I never expected to see this happen here.”

Given the official press releases following each and every terrorist attack in the last year, it seems to me that officials have no power to do anything at all about muslims making videos spouting on about who they are going to blow up, making facebook posts about blowing people up, posting instagram photos of them making suicide vests in front of isis flags with poloroids of all their 9 year old wives scattered on the table. None of this is actionable intelligence. Is it possible, outside of an FBI agent enticing a mentally unstable dude to buy some bomb making materials and then arresting him for terrorism, for any organization to ACTUALLY PREVENT A FUCKING TERRORIST ACT????

It is actionable,, but not enough LEO's are looking..

We have the 1st Amendment: but that does not mean the various LEO's orgs can't be using the free access to monitor and take action..

In countries like the UK, no 1st amendment,, but they have PC police which prevent LEO's from taking action..

Roy Larner has already been hailed a hero, with a petition launched for him to be awarded the George Cross medal for his actions in the Black and Blue steakhouse on Saturday night.

In fighting back, the 47-year-old Millwall fan gave dozens of others who were in the Borough Market restaurant the chance to escape.
