Doubtful he's familiar with the winters in Gunnison.
There are times when it's the coldest place in the lower 48.
A quick Google search popped out this:

Geographic backdrops?
We dont need backdrops... that shit is already in place out west !!!
Two words: JADE BY-GOD HELM BITCHES
...We'll just go all JADE-HELM on these tofu slurping, tree hugging, cheap shotgun toting M'Fers
We can JADE HELM the living catshit out of these sons-a-bitches.
Jumpin Jehoshaphat we can have these yuppy cocksuckers flexed cuffed and waterboarded in the back room of a Walmart stockroom faster than they can cry "safe space"- (Walmart stockroom courtesy of our freedom squashing brothers at FEMA.)
For fuck sake... just look at the stockpile of survival supplies these folks are collecting...
...recycled toilet paper
...dairy free food supplies
...luxury safe rooms
LUXURY SAFE ROOMS ???
LUXURY FUCKING SAFE ROOMS
holy-g-shit batman..... call Commissioner Gordon - they have a luxury safe room !!!
They need a safe room to hole up in during the Trumpocalypse and they are worried about luxury???
These silly bastards are funnier than a one-legged hermaphrodite in a transgendered butt-fucking contest.
These folks aint kidding around.... you only need to bump into a single progressive liberal prepper that bow hunts one time before you learn the hard way that these guys mean business.
The fact that they are planning to teach classes on survival winemaking should have you half-trained SF guys shitting in your ranger panties.
...here is the scenario:
Progressive Liberal prepper bow-hunter man is coming right at you and he is snot-slinging, knee-walking, shit-giggling drunk on homemade wine and all you have left for your custom built AR-15 is three magazines of surplus ball ammo loaded into those shitty aluminum GI issued magazines with crappy black plastic followers
WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO PL !!!!!!!
Some of you snarky fucks arent gonna know whether to shit or go blind when you come up against Progressive Liberal prepper bow-hunter man
Shit may seem funny now... but your attitudes will change when he secretly swaps your brand new roll of Charmin shit tickets with a roll of recycled organic single ply.
...but go ahead, keep making fun of these people and see where it gets you.

I'm in; that was the last straw. I've worked long & hard to get to the point where I can unapologetically despise recycled single-ply toilet paper.

On a more serious note.... the scary thing about this brand of american citizen is why they fear the things they fear.
oppression of political opposition
suppression of free speech and free thought
depraved repression of religious freedoms
physical violence for sport
They fear these things at the hand of a conservative administration because it is exactly how they would govern if they were the ones in the ivory tower.
...ask conservative organizations targeted by the IRS during the last 8 years
...think back to how many times outspoken opponents of POTUS 44 were simply written off as racists and told to "eat your peas"
...think back to when conservatives were spoken down to as nothing more than blind hatemongers that "cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them"
...or when you were simply placed in a basket of deplorables - unredeemable by liberal standards
...told to take down your offensive nativity scene
...told you couldnt have a moment of silence in public schools because everyone knows you are praying - and THAT shit isnt cool
...fast and furious
...operation choke point
...let them have a place to riot so they can express themselves
...hands up dont shoot
The list goes on - there isn't enough internet to spotlight the evils that these people represent.
The intellectual dishonesty, moral ambiguity, and smug superiority complex that these people live with is downright staggering, yet they are shameless in their accusations that it is the Trumpers that are drooling at the chance to embrace fascism as the new normal.
The scariest part isnt that we take their threat lightly and make fun of them - the scary part is that most of us are decent men that feel sorry for them to the point of being willing to forgive them in the name of liberty. The scary part is we line up at the recruiting station to protect their rights to piss all over the ideals of freedom.
...just my opinion, I could be wrong

In the 70's and 80's large influxes from people outside Colorado moved into these areas, at the time there was a fair share of conflict from increased taxation to conflicts of land usage ie the ranches vs the advent of fat tire bicycles and similar access ( cutting fences etc.. ). Then there are the ski areas like Aspen, Vail, Steamboat, Winter Park....with modest homes in downtown Aspen selling at the multi million dollar levels you can start to see the influx of elites into the area as well as the periphery population of trust fund babies...it changed the landscape from what I knew as a boy. The Southern part of the State is interesting, what once were strong communities of hard working Hispanic Americans whose families were here for centuries and you would expect to be conservatives seem to be changing with the new generations.
Below are the maps both being very very interesting especially the national map of county by county voting. It explains a great deal about what is happening in this country and gives insight into the liberal lefts strategy. If Kali falls off into the ocean they are nothing, if illegal immigration was put in check and non citizens were prevented from voting they would be in jeopardy as well.

The resort towns have been getting overrun for decades. In a nutshell, the coastal elites have been buying up properties in the mountains in or around ski resorts and national parks for summer/vacation homes, which has caused property values to skyrocket. The increase in property taxes forces older residents to either pay more or move out. In many cases the locals have tried to adapt by subdividing their own properties in order to make money selling it to said invaders. But, as with many places along both the front range and the resort areas, the city council puts a ban on any development because they want to keep the cozy aesthetics that attracted the invaders. That ban remains in effect until the old residents have no choice but to sell and move and then those properties get chopped up and developed to suit the tastes of the new breed.

This is what caused CA to approve Prop 13; yet they are now the ones, having benefited from the increased investment return, that are retiring to the places you cite and creating the problems they were exempt from. I know because I'm trying hard not to be one, though not totally successfully.

Exactly.... And not "would" it's what they "did".

+1 It's a stellar example of projection. One side of the coin wishes to be subordinated & taken care of (which is what they would do) - the other wishes to be let alone. Perhaps a small portion of the former can learn something about themselves in this process but it requires some critical thinking skills that don't seem to be in vogue anymore, vs. having just the 'right' mis-matched socks. Maybe an enterprising capitalist could open a range that caters to these new 4473 filler-outers.

Interesting thing, the new 4473. Note that Question 11.e. now includes the bolded verbiage:
"Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medical or recreational purposes in the state in which you reside."
If you are a midnight toker in CO, WA or one of the other legal weed states and truthfully check 'yes' to this question, you are barred from buying a firearm. If you untruthfully check 'no' and someone takes the time to follow up on it, you've committed a felony.
2nd order effects can be a real bitch, huh?
