" beacon of democracy to be emulated to almost a third world CINC."
Counter point: The last 8 years have been far from a" Beacon of democracy" on the contrary we literally faced an internal threat to democracy from within by a government that actively usurped government agencies for their own political gain, a government that operated outside the established norms with more executive actions, criminal pardons, partisan appointments, attacks on opponents, policies of division, and used federal agencies like the DOE, EPA, IRS, DOJ to attack states, political groups, individuals to gain political compliance.
Hard for me to understand: Hacking has gone on for a long time now, it seems to be done by players that range from school children to state sponsored entities now, we ourselves have used it. We have created a world where even toasters are dependent on the internet. When the Democrats lost the election, the result is now the fault of the Russians and their hacks....What hacks, false news stories, information from intelligence services that have been groomed over the last 8 years to provide the information that corroborates the administrations view . I'd love to see a graph of the false news stories put out by Yahoo, Huffington, Washington Post, MSM vs any Russian activity. All one needed to do was read the comment sections connected to the articles put out by so called news agencies to see the decent of the majority but that conflicted with the narrative, their answer was to eliminate the ability to comment. It was interesting to see all the high level individuals from the IA's come forward to stump for the democratic candidate before the election, makes one wonder what is such a threat from an outsider? Most news accounts say warnings were issued as far back as Oct......seriously, think about that...it's ludicrous. A phrase from training comes to mind " Failure to Secure...", just when will information become the responsibility of the individual, HK, the DMC,the government, even all of us knows the vulnerability of email...surely. How in the world did we function before the web?
The real questions are just beginning to be asked: Why is the internet so vulnerable, national security and incredible portions of our economy are dependent on it, and what kind of a priority is this for major tech companies? I would guess that answer would surprise you and profit driven.
Why is the government this big? Why is the national debt so egregious? Why is the value of our government product so inefficient?
I notice these questions are not being asked by the current administration or their supporter, they aren't being asked by the MSM, they aren't being asked by many within the government. Sad really more of the same on their way to irrelevance. As for Russia I understand their much of their agenda is not aligned with ours but I also understand 0 and P have a personal hatred for each other, wonder how a briefer who brought an accurate and truthful briefing to the current CINC only to be rejected for politics would put it.
Did I mention how pathetic the press has become? It appears none of them have ever heard of the story " The boy who cried Wolf".
