What I love most about the summer 0lympics is best described by this guy...

Tonight is the first time that the wife and I have watched the Olympics. Its been a good night to start watching. We were both very impressed with swimmer Maya Dirado's Gold medal effort. She sang the Star Spangled Banner as the National Anthem was played , the wife cried and the hair on my arms stood up.

Congrats to young Mr. Murphy for taking a Bronze in the 800m, his first Olympics, coming from way back. Think he still had some gas left and, had there been a little more distance he could've taken Silver. He'll learn more about when to begin moving in such a heavy field.
The Masai from Kenya took the Gold as he did in London. That guy's got serious pace.

Spitz Vs. Phelps
Any of us with a few years behind us will remember Mark Spitz and his 7 gold medals from 44 years ago. This article contains a comparison of the two. There have been a few seconds trimmed off those 1972 times.

I resemble that. Interesting comparison, thanks. Someone mentioned to me the other day that Phelps would be the greatest swimmer ever. Told 'em yeah, that's what they said about Mark Spitz. They said, "who?" Told 'em to google it on their expensive-too-heavy-can't-keep-a-charge-thumb-magnet flat thing.
Congrats to the 3 US Women on their (first ever) USA sweep in the 100m Hurdles.
Zoom-zoom, well-done ladies.

I have been disappointed with the wrestling coverage. Almost zero Greco coverage.

Wrestling gets little to no respect at any level.

Six Gold Medals in Six Consecutive Olympics
Interesting that the MSM has ignored her........as if I didn't know why.
Fans Blame Skimpy Coverage Of Shooter Kim Rhode's Olympic Record To Media Bias
She just became the first Olympic athlete, male or female, to medal in six consecutive summer Olympic Games, but most sports fans have never heard of U.S. skeet-shooter Kim Rhode. Conservatives say there’s a reason for that: She’s pro-Second Amendment. Not only that, she supports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Saw her shoot her medal round (advantage of being retired besides no OPORDERs or SHARP tng). Let's see how she's received when the inevitable WH visit comes. You know what a talented shotgun guy the annointed one is.

And to earn it, Helen Maroulis had to beat a woman who knows a thing or two about gold medals: Japan's Saori Yoshida, a 13-time world champion and three-time reigning Olympic champion...."

I just watched an interview with Maroulis. She said she always lacked self-confidence and her wrestling gave her that back. I would say it certainly did.
Well done, Ms. Maroulis. Well done, indeed!

Since the government has decreed that a woman is the full equal of a man in all regards, and his superior in many, someone please explain to me why we have separate, but equal women's sports?

The sports arena still realizes something that the US military chooses to ignore.

She is very talented. There are others. Tashiya (sp?) Alo is another up and comer. Super talented. Natural Athlete.
With that said, women's wrestling has a ways to go in increasing participation worldwide before the competition pyramid is as steep as it is for the men. The Japanese jumped on the sport early and kick ass.

Because we all know, deep down that the first part of your statement is bullshit.
