He also supports allowing openly transgender persons to serve in the military...
...so THAT ought to be great to watch happen.
The 2016 general election may well be little more than a referendum on the fate of Americas moral conscience.
...not that it matters, because people have feeling and those feeling are important so vote early, vote often.

Maybe if Hillary can pull out the win, she will further decimate the Military by offering a 15 year retirement.
God knows I would bite, given that bait.
Sure is nice to know that our ammo allocation this upcoming quarter is about 25% of last years.

I'm looking forward to this being implemented, since the latest in policy and policymakers not only makes it increasingly difficult to distinguish between genders, but is making up new ones to boot.

Just because this career bureaucrat has been on the KD path to Secretary of the Army for the last 6 years and 243 days doesn't negate the concerns people have over his nomination. The Congressman who took over for him as Acting Undersecretary was a decorated Army veteran with OIF combat experience who seems to hold similar FP opinions to this administration. It seems most civilian leaders of our Armed Forces these days have concerns other than warfighting capability, as evidenced by Mabus' current outspoken agenda with the Navy.
We should give this man a chance to prove himself before denouncing the nomination, but I cannot argue with the skepticism coming from my peers right now.

Military gay person
This is not a popular opinion, but I own it.
I think gays should be in the military. If they choose the lifestyle, and can otherwise meet mental and physical requirements, they should be welcomed.
For those who cannot or will not comport themselves appropriately, there exists the Manual of Courts Martial which can address those individuals.
My core belief is that having them inside the tent, makes it one more person who can bleed instead of me. Subsequently, if they can bleed, then they should be given that opportunity. As one with 2 PH, I would gladly give it to a gay who was doing what I was doing. I do not see anything different from any other ethnic soldier. Like I said earlier there is always the Manual for Courts Martial.
We don't have to like the behavior. We don't have to socialize with them. However, if they meet the needs of the military and can separate their lifestyle within the accepted norm of the military, they should be accepted as equals whether soldier, sailor, marine or airman.

That is why don't ask/don't tell worked...who cared.
It is this freakin celebration of this lifestyle being forced on all to participate that pisses everyone off.

Exactly.

No, they want to push their deviant lifestyle choices in our faces and laugh that we now bow to the 1%.
I don't care if they screw goats, I don't really care what they do, I don't want to hear about it. I've never gone around and told people I was openly hetro...... not something normal folks think about.
I don't care if he's gay, I don't care if he likes it in the butt, I don't care if he likes to wear women's dresses and chase Shetland ponies, I don't care and you can keep it to yourself. If you can't keep it to yourself I'll be the first one to call you a nasty name and force you from my personal space by all means necessary.
