We are trying to get back towards UW and yet the Undersecretary goes to Range 37 where we train our Kinetic skills for our DA guys.

Because going to the ASOT committee would have been informative right? Or one of the UW exercises....

"You see THAT Mr Secretary?"

"No."

"EXACTLY! And if you did we would deny it happened! Coffee?"

UW has alot of stuff that is going on a man of his education and intelligence would understand. He was an Intelligence Officer in the Navy if you read his bio I am sure he was familiar with ASO type Ops.

This would have been a perfect opportunity to show him why SF is different and unique by showcasing our real purpose.

Imagine that you are showing up to sit in on a briefing on the pending deployment of Special Forces into a politically sensitve area to conduct small unit training and basic marksmanship in support of the State Departments push to get an agrement to stage a small force of troops that can support the CT effort in the country without rasing any eyebrows...

This is what you get when you show up:

A group of "operators" in full kit, fancy guns, helmets that only SF gets to wear, civilian hiking boots, and an "OEF beard" as they come busting into a room and firing 50 rounds into 4-5 targets...
...everyhting seems like a game to these jokers. As they high-five after the gun fire stops, you can see through their already rolled up sleeves, that they are all sporting bright colorful sleeve tattoos.
...very good artwork by the way.

OR....

Four gentlemen, freshly shaved, not Army haircuts, but hair cuts that look like they are investment bankers, dressed neatly in a well fitted suit, speaking like educated, professionals while discussing the political and military implications of a six week counter naro-terrorism operation in any one of over a hundred countries scattered randomly around the globe...
...while tearing down the projection screen at the end of the presentation, you realize that all of them are carrying pistols under their suit coats and you never noticed until the briefing was over and all of the big players had left the room.

Who would you tap with the mission?
Who are we?
Who does the Undersecretary think we are?
Does it matter?

...keep in mind, he probably got the same "range demo" from some other folks on post.

Great argument Billy

Too bad senior leadership apparently doesn't see it that way.

it looks like he is out in the rain which reminded me of another reaction to being outside in the rain.
