Beards

Well, I wonder how well they can seal a gas mask with a beard. Gas chamber ought to be fun to watch.

Asatru! That way you can have it all. Beard, hair, tattoos, and a honking big axe.

I'm cool with it. No need to ask my young Soldier for his weapon to then unmask to find out if it's chemical persistent or biological. Self selecting canaries in the coal mine. Next war will be a bit nasty methinks.

Didn't Jesus have a beard? Just saying 18C = carpenter = Jesus was a carpenter = you can have a beard.

I could go all day down the MOSs. I'm intel, expected (though very untrue) to be all knowing......BAM!!!! Beard for religious expression and efficiency to distribute knowledge to the flock.

Or Pastafarian (church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster), with traditional pirate attire...beard, hair, tattoos, long blades, beer, and buxom arm candy. Metal colandar headgear is optional. http://www.venganza.org/

Just think, local commanders don't have authority to deny these exception to policy requests; they must be sent up the chain to the top Pentagon brass. Can't wait to see some of those emails!

I found it interesting that once our men went to war and started coming home with beards, now lots of guys are growing beards and going for the "I'm a SF guy home on leave" thing at the local bars. It's sort of sad....

On another note, I do love a well armed man with a beard....as long as he is on our side.

I'm still trying to find the guy that brought me coffee in Kirkuk.....he had a great beard.

TR and I were laughing about the same thing at SHOT - lots of "operator" facial fuzz on Walter Mitties.

No lie.

At SHOT, I bet 30 percent of the attendees had tactical clothing, if not camo, some sort of web gear, and a beard.

Very few of them looked like vets though.

Question: Back in late 80's off of Gruber road I saw an individual in another company with Ranger fatigues and OD Turban, he appeared to me to be a red headed Caucasian w/beard and many of the Rangers seem to know him. The turban looked sikh to me, but never understood the entirety of the appearance, understand there were foreign officers...one of the things one wonders about later?
