I may live in the more yuppie-centric area of North Idaho, but I say let these citadel folks do what they want and just forget about them. I don't foresee their project lasting very long.
That area south of St. Maries is absolutely beautiful, but it is not for the faint of heart. Over time, it may weed out the "less enthusiastic" and become a sanctuary for those who can truly provide for themselves. There are ample opportunities in that area to hunt/gather all the major food groups without too much fuss.
Oh and if they think that tourism will be a major economic boon, I think they have yet to set foot in Benewah county. It isn't what you call...developed.
