You have a 100% grasp of the dynamic sir:
- Yes they do. (Schools, churches, hospitals, sports venues, gov't buildings, et al.)
- Yes they are. (Not to the shooter.)
- Yes they are. (Which to me is tantamount to criminal depraved indifference.)
There is, ultimately, only one reason for a government to want to strip citizens of arms or, failing that, to know precisely where they can be found.

Guy, see if you can find a few issues of the "American Rifleman" magazine, and go to around page 10 in them to read "The Armed Citizen". These are anecdotes involving what happens when dumbass criminals screw up around real Americans.

For every one shooting in the US, there are 10-15 deaths and over 350-400 massive injuries due to motor vehicles.......don't hear about those since little sensationalism, not as sexy to the media as a shooting

All that I am aware of is that for some reason these types of incidents tend to occour mostly in locales that have gun control laws in place, and then when it happens politicians in those mostly liberal areas stake claims for more gun control. What makes them think a) the laws work in the first place, and b) an armed citizen wouldn't be able to defend theirselves, or their loved ones.
One thing is for certain, unless the politicians plan on regulating and monitoring every single worker and hour of machine use in a machine shop, or home shop, guns and plenty of ammo will always be available.

Cops Shoot Dead ESB Gunman (Warning: Graphic)
The NYPD released dramatic footage Friday night of their confrontation with Johnson before they eventually shot and killed him. The video shows what Police Commissioner Ray Kelly stated earlier — that the suspect pulled his handgun from the bag and pointed it at officers before the deadly conclusion to the situation.

But why shoot innocent civilians? When all he had to do was find a cop and point a gun at them.

He shot the manager that fired him. It seems that the officers shooting at him missed some shots and hit the bystanders.

Just got done with the second iteration of Car-15 rifle course for local LEO's in my county, NY, State. First class, one town officer refused to use sights with his car-15 when we were at 7 meters and one female officer could not draw her side arm (took 15 seconds to get pistol from holster) during transition training. Second class, one officer could not draw side arm again in under 15 seconds. When will they take things seriously? I have no clue.

I found a pretty cool search page for such things. Here's the link: SpotCrime. You have to register, but it seems worth it. When looking at Baltimore, I can understand why the MSM doesn't cover their shootings... not enough reporters [/QUOTE]
Thanks for the web site. Could prove to be useful.

THANK YOU!
Where are the reverends proclaiming the outrage? Where are the media publicizing the carnage?
