The three of us (D9, Shadowrunner, myself) got back from selection yesterday and started right into SFPC 2. We get today and tomorrow off then the class starts in earnest on Friday. 12 days of lock-down, no FTX; another shortened course after our 16 day selection.

I don't believe any of us sustained any injuries other than the usual blisters. A great course but I am glad I opnly have to do it once. Doing a star exam in a hurricane was almost fun.

Thank you sir to the Reaper for coming and saying hi to the class. One observation I have to make is that it certainly is an environment that is conducive to the success of motivated people, so stay motivated and DON'T QUIT, none of our class did.

PS. Thank you all for the congrats

Selection 501-04

24 days of Selection condenced into 16. Being part of this class should be interesting from now until Christmas. Like Koob, I really appreciated your visit, Sir. D9 and I were bunkmates, with Koob right across the bay. Thanks to everyone for their words, now it's time for me to dig into this Ranger Handbook.

Special class, all SOPC grads (18X/Rep 63).

Aren't all SFAS classes full of SOPC graduates now? I thought the Army made it a prerequisite, unless what I read was wrong. I have a prior service (6 yr Rgr) friend who is trying to re-enlist and get in the same SFAS class as me. He told me then that he didn't have to go through SOPC like everyone else. Is he mistaken?

Thanks

No.

You need a better source.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats. I've been away from a regular internet connection, and didn't even see this thread until now.

I didn't move on to SFPC II with Koob and SR, mostly because of the mistake in my original orders. I'm guessing both of them are doing very well in that course, however, and I am a little envious that they are going to be one step ahead of me in the pipeline.

I share Koob's positive opinion about the SFAS experience. I was very impressed by the professionalism of the cadre. I have never been to a school in the military that I thought was as well run, or does such a good job of accomplishing its stated goals. At the end of SFAS, when I sat down to get counseled, I was stunned at the quantity of information they had gathered about my performance. They commented on details that I would never of thought had been observed and noted. It was truly impressive.

As the cadre told us, we stood in line and now we have a ticket to the dance. That's all. But I'm glad to be past the hurdle nonetheless, and looking forward to what's to come.
