Did anyone else have the entire thing in spanish? I got a verizon fios commercial and all the text on the webpage was in spanish along with the video at first. After about 3 seconds into the video it died and froze up IE as the internet just couldnt handle it for some reason. I guess the ironic part is I have Verizon internet.

Real or faking it.
The relationship "expert", what qualifies her as that? There was no wedding ring. Is she an expert because she has been fooled so many times?
The women who fall for these losers are not victims so much as they are desperate. Who could blame them, in these hard economic times, looking for someone who shouldn't be morally bankrupt or bankrupt.
No one is putting anything over on the crypt keeper. I've done and will continue to do a lot of things for my country.....she is not one of them.

In all fairness, most people don't know that these sites exist or that they can use them to verify claims of service. Most people are not going to a website to verify claims and would probably go to a recruiter because in their mind that is an official rep of the respective branch of service.

I heard the line about the 19 year-old officer too...my son was commissioned out of NMMI at age 20...and there were several of his classmates that were not quite 20 years old...they were all commissioned in reserve units and not accessed to active duty until they completed bachelor's degrees, but they were officers, none the less...I suspect the same holds true for the other military junior colleges as well...

It does. I have friends who commissioned early via the Early Commissioning Programs of Valley Forge, Georgia Military College and Marion Military Institute. They were all 1LTs who were serving in Reserve/Guard units by the time they attended their respective BOLCs.

You are being nice.
She works for military.com, spokes-person for military.com and she's 100% wrong. (makes me wonder how she got that job....)
They should have asked Chuck and Mary Schantag to do the interview. http://www.pownetwork.org/ Experts in busting fakes.
Not some 21 year old clueless idiot.
I would have expected that sort of interview on cnn, pbs, or msnbc, not FOX.
edit to add: google, "How do I verify military service", and you get all the right places to verify an individuals service......I've little doubt how stupid brunette got the job at military.com.

I think the M.com rep thinks a lot of herself. I liked the “I tell my 21 year old interns….” That confused me for a moment because she herself did not look a day over 21.
With the 19 year old officer line, I understand that we did commissioning before at early ages, but I do not know if that is in fact possible today. When I joined it was possible to be commissioned without a BA or BS but you had to finish it fairly quickly after your commission. I recently asked if they were still doing that, and I was told no. I have never seen or heard of any direct commissions in regular military recently in any conventional units either. So, does anyone know if 19-20 year old officers ARE still possible today? Besides Warrant officers such as highschool to flight-schoolers...if that even still exists as well.
To Clairify, I mean as of recently such as the last 2 or so years, seems like the Army is getting much more strict on its policies at least.

Team Sergeant Sir, maybe you could write them an e-mail saying what you've written here and how you expect better from them.

I'm sure they read the blogs and the internet websites. It's going to make her day when she reads what I wrote about her....
