I dated a mad Columbian for a while. If I recall correctly she would always say
"A lo que los muertos no tienen...Salud! (Not sure if I quite said that right?)
Loosely translated it ment. "To what the dead people don't have - Health!"
She really was completely nuts...

"I thought of the orphans and widows he had made, of the tears that had been shed for his glory, and of the only woman who ever loved him, pushed from his heart by the cold hand of ambition. And I said I would rather have been a French peasant and worn wooden shoes. I would rather have lived in a hut with a vine growing over the door, and the grapes growing purple in the kisses of the autumn Summer sun. I would rather have been that poor peasant with my loving wife by my side, knitting as the day died out of the sky, with my children upon my knees and their arms about me. I would rather have been that man and gone down to the tongueless silence of the dreamless dust, than to have been that imperial impersonation of force and murder, known as _________. "

Russian Toast
If you toast in Russian, formally or to a group, Russians would say, "za vashe zdorovie." (To your health)
A great answer if someone toasts you with the above -- is "Dai Bozhe." (God willing/giving)
...und jetzt Deutsch!
"Zum Wohl" works for any wine drinkers out there -- especially in Glühwein season.
Cheers to all of you!

Here's to you, here's to me,

Screw you, here's to me!

This would have to be the first drink of the night. No way I could get it out a second time after a drink.

To be honest, you can only say it once, and only after the "third" shot. It dosen't help to be sober.
A funny story, a friend called me the next day, saying, "What was the toast?".
I retold it, he hung up.

A toast I said as the Best Man at my friend's wedding:
"May the best of your past, be the worst of your future!"

Here's to the girl in the little red shoes,
Spends all my money and drinks all my booze,
She doesn't have a cherry, but that's no sin,
She still has the box, the cherry came in!
